Tuesday 16th May 2006 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays a concert on The New Cars Road Rage Tour in Pala, California, plus he'll be interviewed on The Alice Cooper Radio Show

12.45 - Tonight Kasim Sulton, Elliot Easton, Greg Hawkes, Todd Rundgren and Prairie Prince will play the third concert of The New Cars Road Rage Tour (with Blondie) at The Event Centre in Pala, Southern California.
This concert was originally going to be played at the outdoor Starlight Theatre at the same venue but was moved inside to the casino about a week ago (possibly due to poor ticket sales???). This morning seats could be purchased in the 12th row at $85 (plus taxes). The cheapest seats for this venue are $66. There will be a Meet and Greet (including Kasim) before this concert ($395).
This will be Kasim's first time of playing here. The venue seats 2,000 people and the concert starts at 7.30pm. Click here to view the venue website.

The New Cars Road Rage Tour Mileage
12.30 - This mileage is already obviously incorrect as Kasim Sulton has said that he went to Pala via Los Angeles but this calculation gives an estimate with the distances taken from venue to venue and is prepared only as a bit of fun and to give another slight insight into the tour.

Professional Review of the Grand Prairie concert
11.45 - In the first professional review of the tour that I've seen (but I have been busy!) Mario Tarradell of The Dallas Morning News here thought that Blondie's set was the better one, however he does say "However, Mr. Sulton did do a fine job with "Drive," the signature song sung by Mr. Orr. Plus, the band did get The Cars style down pat."

Kasim on the Alice Cooper Radio Show tonight
10.30 - The interview with Kasim by Alice Cooper will air tonight between 10.00pm and 11.00pm. Click here to listen to a 30 second promo clip for Alice Cooper's show tonight when he mentions he will be interviewing Kasim.
Click here to view the list of radio stations which will air the interview. Most fans overseas will be able to listen to it via Virgin Radio which streams on the Internet. The show airs on that station from 6.00pm to 10.ppm UK time (1.00pm to 5.00pm EST).

19.45 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays a concert as part of The New Cars at the Nokia Theatre in Grand Prairie just on the outskirts of Dallas, Texas. The address of the venue is:
1001 Performance Place
Grand Prairie, TX 75050
The concert starts at 8.00pm and Blondie will be the opening act. As of this morning there were seats available in the 10th row in the block right in front of Kasim (possibly because not all of the packages were taken up). Ticket prices at this venue started at $36.25.
This venue can seat up to 3,650 people and each seat is no more than 212 feet from the stage. Click here to watch interactive views of the venues. According to their website there are 2-3 inches more room per seat than other arenas and theatres, they have plush seats with padding on the bottom and the back and there are cup-holders for every seat!
This venue has hosted some great names including The Eagles, Enrique Iglesias, Coldplay and REO Speedwagon. This will be Kasim's first appearance at this venue.

Meet and Greets on The New Cars Tour
17.15 - The day of the first concert on The New Cars Road Rage Tour and according to a post on the official website of The New Cars, TheNewCars.com the Meet and Greet packages will now involve Kasim Sulton (and Prairie Prince)!
Unfortunately this announcement is too late for most of Kasim's fans who will have already bought non-Meet and Greet tickets for the concerts.

The Grand Casino, Tunica, MS
02.00 - Tonight Kasim Sulton, Elliot Easton, Greg Hawkes, Todd Rundgren and Prairie Prince will play the first concert of The New Cars Road Rage Tour (with Blondie) at The Grand Casino in Tunica, (Robinsonville) Mississippi).
The Grand Casino seats 2,500 people and good seats are now available for this concert. When this concert first went on sale on 17th March, TicketMaster listed the "best available" as the back block. Better seats were available in the side blocks but that was not easily apparent. It appears that the casino held back all the floor seats for their high rollers but as they were not all taken up, recently seats in the second row at the front were available on TicketMaster.com. Just this morning single floor seats were available in the 7th row and two seats together in the 8th row. Tickets for this concert vary in price from $50 to $60.

The New Cars in Classic Rock Magazine
01.15 - There's an interview with Elliot Easton in this months edition of the UK magazine Classic Rock. Although it only briefly mentions Kasim Sulton (it's more about The Cars rather than The New Cars), it's an interesting read about the history of the band.
