Kasim - solo
At the beginning of July Kasim Sulton played his first international solo gig at The Night and Day Cafe in Manchester, England. Last October Kasim played a well received 45 minute solo set at GuitarFest '05 in New Berlin, WI. Kasim also opened 4 of the Meat Loaf concerts on the Hair Of The Dog Tour last Summer. On Sunday 18th December Kasim played at Toys In The Park in Miami and on Friday 3rd February 2006 Kasim played a co-bill gig with Glen Burtnik at The Tin Angel in Philadelphia.
The first special edition limited run of Kasim's latest album Quid Pro Quo has sold out and the second edition is now available. Kasim has signed with Sanctuary Records so that copies of Quid Pro Quo will soon be available in stores. This third edition of the album will have two additional tracks on it that he aims to make available online for fans who have bought a previous version of the album. To the delight of his fans worldwide, Kasim Sulton is currently writing songs for his next solo album which he hopes to be released next year! Kasim and The New Cars
From 12th May until 10th June Kasim joined Elliot Easton, Greg Hawkes, Todd Rundgren and Prairie Prince to tour as The New Cars on their Road Rage Tour. Unfortunately the tour was cancelled on 13th June as Elliot Easton had to have an operation after he broke his shoulder. They hope to resume the tour later in the year. In January they played 3 show case performances in Los Angeles which were recorded and on Tuesday 14th March they played at a press conference in Los Angeles before making an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno that evening to announce details of their Road Rage Tour with Blondie. A new album was released in the US on 6th June.
Kasim with Meat Loaf
For the majority of 2003 and until the middle of March 2004, Kasim Sulton was involved in the promotion and touring for the new Meat Loaf album, "Couldn't Have Said It Better". which included a world tour. Last summer Kasim played on the Meat Loaf Hair Of The Dog Tour. The tour started in Europe at the beginning of June and then moved to the US for August and September. In November Bat Out Of Hell III started being recorded in Los Angeles - Kasim is playing bass and singing background vocals on the album which will be released worldwide in the fall. A tour to promote to album is expected to follow in late 2006 or 2007.
Kasim with Todd Rundgren
During 2004 Todd Rundgren toured the US, Europe and Japan to promote his latest album, Liars. Kasim played bass and some keyboards in the band, plus sang background vocals. This link has reviews and photos of the gigs and a DVD of the tour was released last year. Last year both Todd and Kasim had mentioned a possible Utopia 30th Anniversary Tour for 2006 but that idea has now been shelved.
