On Friday 14th March 2003, Kasim Sulton played his first gig as part of The Pat Travers Band at The Shark Club in Morristown, NJ. The third member of the group was Sandy Gennaro who Kasim used to play with in Joan Jett's band.
"The Pat Travers show last night in Morristown, NJ was AWESOME!" - Doug Kennedy
"Pat Travers....a guitar god, a soulful singer, and all around legend. He made his Gibson Melody Maker guitar sound like a UFO by rapidly manipulating it's volume knob. You gotta love that!" - Doug Kennedy
"Drummer Sandy Genaro, another Staten Islander, blew me away with his furious pounding. His double kick drumming was so impressive that when I met him after the show I tried to shake his foot!" - Doug Kennedy
"Kasim played his 5-string Spectre bass, sang some back-ups here and there, and even turned in a wicked bass solo." - Doug Kennedy
"For about 90 minutes they played a slew of Travers classics including Boom Boom ( Out Go The Lights ), Snortin' Whiskey, and Crash And Burn. Also included in the set were two Creem covers: White Room and Born Under A Bad Sign." - Doug Kennedy
"What I noticed was that Kasim was watching Pat most of the time. He was able to play along with him by just watching Pat's hands on the guitar. Only once did Pat have Kasim change to another key. Also, the drummer counted once out loud to Kasim so he would know when to begin again after one of Pat's solo sections. I'm sure Kasim didn't rehearse much with Pat, but you couldn't tell because Kasim is so talented." - Gary Goveia
