Wednesday 27th October 2004

00.30 - Just a reminder that there are only 3 more days to purchase Quid Pro Quo from Sphere Sound Records in order to be entered into the draw to win the massive window poster that has been signed by Kasim Sulton. The draw will take place on 31st October. Click here for more details.
00.15 - Some comments about the first Tokyo gig last night has been added to the Todd Rundgren's Liars Tour section of the site.

Monday 25th October 2004
11.45 - There's a great quote about Kasim in this review of the Bat Out Of Hell - Live CD. It says:
"The 'rock band' too are in great shape. The bass playing on 'All Revved Up With No Place To Go' must have turned a fair few of the virtuosos' heads."
Many thanks to the kind person who forwarded this link.
11.30 - Give Them Love, Give Them Bread (originally known as the TR Cookbook) is now available to purchase from CafePress.com. The book is desecibed as a 220-page tribute to the works of Todd Rundgren with over 225 favorite and multi-generation recipes from Todd Rundgren and The Liars as well as Todd's family, friends and fans. Each book also includes an entry form for a chance to win autographed Todd memorabilia (including Liars group photos signed by all 5 of the band. Kasim Sulton contributed a recipe - he described it as "it is my most favorite dish and I make it often when I'm home".
Sunday 24th October 2004
20.45 - Like the West Coast gigs, unfortunately there have been very few (in fact only mine so far!) reviews of the first two gigs in Japan which is why I've been unable to provide links to any.
20.30 - For anybody who missed Kasim Sulton's e-mail a couple of days ago, it's been copied into this thread.
11.45 - The set list and a few comments about the Osaka gig earlier today has been added to the Todd Rundgren's Liars Tour section of the site.
11.30 - Some comments about the Nagoya gig last night have been added to the Todd Rundgren's Liars Tour section of the site.
Saturday 23rd October 2004
12.15 - Click here for a thread about the Nagoya concert.
12.00 - Due to Japan being 13 hours ahead of US, Kasim Sulton has already played tonights concert in Nagoya. The set list has been added to the Todd Rundgren's Liars Tour section of the site. Kasim played a brilliant bass solo at this gig.
Friday 22nd October 2004
19.15 - Although it's a fan generated suggestion, it's nice to see that Kasim is on BBKing's list of artists people would like to see play at one of their venues.
10.30 - According to this thread tickets for the Todd Rundgren gigs in Japan are selling better now. Looking at one of the venue websites it appears that tickets for his gig are about double the price of most concerts there.
10.15 - Overnight Kasim Sulton sent a chatty (no real news content) message to his mailing list mainly stating that he is in Japan.
Thursday 21st October 2004
06.00 - Apparently in The Sty on Patronet.com MP3s from Albany of Mammon and Facist Christ (both featuring Kasim Sulton) can be downloaded. It runs to over 12 minutes plus Todd Rundgren's solo set can be downloaded.
Tuesday 19th October 2004

Monday 18th October 2004

Sunday 17th October 2004
07.30 - Earlier items from this Blog page have been moved to a new page (so that this page will open quicker). The link is at the bottom of this page.
07.00 - A radio station (which streams on the Internet) in Holland is hosting a Meat Loaf weekend which includes playing tracks from the Meat Loaf / Melbourne Symphony Orchestra DVD and CD tonight between 4.00pm and 6.00pm tonight. Click here for the link to listen online.
Saturday 16th October 2004
08.15 - There were some posts this week on the Meat Loaf Live mailing list about whether or not the boys choir sing live on the Meat Loaf / Melbourne Symphony Orchestra DVD and CD. Somebody on the list asked Kasim Sulton and he was kind enough to take the time to respond that they do and that they are all wearing small lapel microphones.
05.45 - Thankfully the KasimInfo.co.uk part of this site is now back up. In fact that server is very rarely down (it's just that when it does go down usually there is no support over weekends). If you compare the downtime on that part of the site to the server that KasimInfo.com used to be on until a few weeks ago (it was down at least 27 times since May) you will understand why, when I was in US in May, I had a meeting with someone about this new company hosting the site. With the two companies I now use, the site should be more stable.
Friday 15th October 2004
19.15 - It appears that the KasimInfo.co.uk part of this site is down. It seems that the whole of the server from that host company is down. Unfortunately (and this is why I don't host the whole site there) it means that it will probably be down until Monday morning! That is why I don't place anything that is time sensitive on that server.
01.00 - Kasim Sulton receives a nice mention in this old review of a 2002 Meat Loaf concert in the Scranton Times Tribune. In case it disappears at some point, it says:
"Veteran musical journeyman Kasim Sulton is serving as musical director/bassist for the tour and played a few songs as opening act. The talented Sulton is in support of his latest solo effort, "Quid Quo Pro," and was a great coup for Meat Loaf to include on the tour."
Tuesday 12th October 2004
12.15 - A page has been set up on this website about Kasim's appearances in Movin' Out.
11.00 - There's a new photo of Kasim (in an unusual pose!) by Jean Lannen on KasimSulton.com.
09.30 - The News section of the site has been updated.
09.00 - The E-Bay auction for a copy of Kasim came to a close on Saturday with no bids despite an opening bid of only $7.50.
02.00 - It's a sad days for fans of Kasim Sulton as it seems that Britt's great Simply Kasim website has disappeared (Geocities are in the process of removing websites from their database that haven't been updated recently). When I first got on the Internet in 1997 / 1998 I (and most fans of Kasim I expect) used to log onto her site every day to see the latest news.
Monday 11th October 2004
18.00 - Click here for the official website for the Meat Loaf / Melbourne Symphony Orchestra DVD and CD. This site includes videos of 4 of the songs (which feature Kasim Sulton) and some great still shots of Kasim. Many thanks to Vicki Pearson for finding this link and to Jennifer Salyer for forwarding it.
01.30 - Apparently the Meat Loaf / Melbourne Symphony Orchestra DVD will be released in Holland and Belgium this Friday (10/15). Many thanks to Bianca for this info.
Sunday 10th October 2004
07.30 - For a future edition of The Kasim Sulton Magazine I'm looking for some screen prints of the previous layouts of the front page of KasimSulton.com plus one of KasimOnline.com. If you saved a copy, please could you e-mail it to SueW@KasimInfo.com. Many thanks...
Friday 8th October 2004
01.15 - Apparently this is Kasim Sulton's "rack".
01.00 - The front page of KasimSulton.com has been updated with details of Kasim's performance on Sunday.
Thursday 7th October 2004
16.00 - Kasim Sulton has sent a message to his mailing list to say that he has entered into negotations with Sanctuary Records for them to release and distribute both Quid Pro Quo and his next album! Sanctuary Records currently release Todd Rundgren, Meat Loaf and the back catalogue of Utopia albums. Kasim also said that he will be playing both the 3.00pm and 7.30pm performances of Movin' Out this coming Sunday (10th).
05.00 - Kasim Sulton receives a couple of mentions in some album reviews of Couldn't Have Said It Better on the MeatLoafOnLine.com website. This site has probably the most comphrensive collection of reviews for the album and the Kasim mentions are:
"In fact Meat's bassist Kasim Sulton, who also does backing vocals, has said that, Love You Out Loud is his favourite song to play live because of the way it all fits together and the harmonies and the beat and the lighting
just everything about it is magical. "
and
"Kasim Sulton plays bass and arranges fabulous background vocals on most songs, and there are beautiful orchestral arrangements as well."
04.45 - The Todd Rundgren's Liars Tour section of the site has been updated with set lists, some more comments and links to photos for the San Francisco, Agoura Hills and Cerritos gigs.
Wednesday 6th October 2004
17.30 - The E-Bay auction for a Japanese version of Lights On (with obi strip) came to a close today with a winning bid of $9.99.
15.45 - There's a great "review" of the Meat Loaf / Melbourne Symphony Orchestra DVD on Doug Kennedy's website today, all told in Doug's hilarious style. He mentions Kasim in it quite a few times and makes the scenes with the band sound hilarious!
01.15 - This Hall and Oates website have some tapes of concerts (which include Kasim Sulton on bass) available to trade.
01.00 - Check the KasimInfo.co.uk section of the website for details of a new site that will be opening soon.
00.45 - The messageboard attached to Kasim's official website KasimSulton.com is currently closed. Just a personal note that I think it's sad that in a week that Kasim Sulton has announced that he made 2 appearances in a musical and that he is working with Joan Jett for the first time in 15 years, that some fans made the emphasis of the messageboard attached to KasimSulton.com complaints about the board itself and negativity about the popularity of this website. (In fact there were only 2 posts on the board about Kasim's news.) If you do wish to read some posts about Kasim's news click here and here and the latest figures I have from TheCounter.com are:
"Account number 2063599, KasimInfo.com, had a total of 13146 visitors last week.
Visitors for last week divided per weekday:
