18.15 - Click here to read a recent press release from Sphere Sound Records that mentions Kasim.
17.00 - The opening message on KasimSulton.com has changed. The best news is that there will be a new issue soon of Quid Pro Quo.
11.15 - The Video Of The Week section of the site has been updated with three videos showing Kasim playing Bully.
11.00 - Kasim receives a couple of mentions in this thread about possible opening acts for the possible October / November Meat Loaf tour.

05.45 - The Sanctuary Records Press Release now features some sound-clips from Todd Rundgren's forthcoming album Liars. (Although this album doesn't feature Kasim the clips give an indication of the type of music that he will be playing on the tour.)
05.30 - On 25th February Meat Loaf posted that the concert on 17th March will be his final one. A couple of days ago he posted that shows "may be planned in Canada and US for 8 or 9 weeks starting October". Click here to read the post. Many thanks to Jules for forwarding this link (somehow it never occured to me that the important news about a possible tour that Kasim Sulton will be playing would be hidden away in a thread about Jimmy Barnes!).
Tuesday 9th March 2004

06.45 - The full transcript of the online chat has now been changed to just show the part that Kasim Sulton attended. For the first time I was sent something that I didn't fully check before I put it on KasimInfo.com. I am sorry for any embarrassment that this caused. If I hadn't been so tired then I would have checked it first. This also emphasises to me the reason that I usually only add a synopsis of the chat but when David and Jules of The Mirror Of The Soul website offered the full transcript then I jumped at the chance. For future chats I will revert to only adding a synopsis. Once again I apologize to everybody who was upset by this.

20.30 - Due to a change in my work schedule, the next issue of The Kasim Sulton Magazine will now be issued on Thursday 4th March (instead of Tuesday 2nd March as originally advertised).
08.45 - Currently on E-Bay there are copies of Kasim (the current price is $5.50 after 3 bids and the auction ends tonight) and Lights On (the starting bid is $7.99, there are currently no bids on it and the auction ends on Friday). The latter is described as "hard rock".
07.00 - Brightlight has posted some photos of the Meat Loaf concert in Brisbane. The ones that include Kasim are:
Two photos of Kasim in one!
A typical Kasim pose (or maybe it's those leather pants!)
On the drum riser
In action
Illuminated (during Out Of The Frying Pan)
In the background during Paradise By The dashboard Light
Ditto
Center stage (where he belongs!)
Back at his microphone
06.45 - Kasim (and his guitar picks) receive a few mentions in this post on MLUKFC.com about the Brisbane concert yesterday.
06.30 - Unfortunately Kasim did not open the Brisbane concert - apparently he was replaced by the National Air Guitar Champion! Meat Loaf posted about half an hour ago that he "hated" the act.

Extract from the Rear View Mirror (the MLUKFC newsletter)
Saturday 28th February 2004
06.00 - Meat Loaf has made a post on a couple of messageboards (calmly this time) reiterating that the 17th March concert will be his final one. He does say though that he is still intending to make Bat Out Of Hell III. He also says that for the Australia concert recordings there "will be a DVD and an Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell LIVE with the same order of songs as the Bat 1 Record plus Bonus tracks. CD out August, Dvd OCT." (However Heaven Can Wait was not played at any of the concerts.)
05.00 - Ticketek list Kasim as the "Special Guest" for the Meat Loaf concert in Wollongong on Wednesday.
04.30 - Click here for a photo agency photo of Kasim Sulton (and Meat Loaf) in rehearsals on 18th February with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Many thanks to the kind person who sent me this link.
Friday 27th February 2004
21.15 - Unfortunately when I decided on the "7 Days 7 Additions" idea, I didn't know that I would be working a 69 hour week this week so I've had to revise the plans slightly to add some items which will take less time to code (the other items will be added soon). Today I have reinstated the Video Of The Week feature which used to be on KasimInfo.com a couple of years ago. The link is on the front page of the site and the video this week is of Kasim Sulton explaining who he is in London, England recently.
Thursday 26th February 2004

17.00 - Kasim Sulton has updated his Journal on KasimSulton.com. Many thanks to Yvonne Bender for noticing this.
Wednesday 25th February 2004

18.00 - According to a post of the messageboard attached to TRConnection.com, the official website of Jesse Gress has listed some new Todd Rundgren tour dates on his website (which unfortunately appears to be down at the moment). 13.00 - There is a new review of Quid Pro Quo on WKOnline. In case it disappears at some point, it says:
"How music should be
Bought tickets for the Meat Loaf gig over here for November but was cancelled and finally saw it in the middle of January. I checked a web site to see who the support act was going to be and noticed it was Kasim. I'd never heard of him so decided to be open minded when the gig started. I can now say I've had the pleasure and honour of hearing Kasim play live, just him and his acoustic guitar. He played Sacrifice, Don't Hold Me Back and my now favourite Before She Was Gone. I bought the album and listened to it over and over again. The acoustic versions just blew me away with the melody and sheer brilliance of this artist. I only hope that he releases an acoustic album in the future so others can enjoy what I did that night. "
The reviewer also gives the album the full 5 stars.
12.45 - Since Tuesday 17th February, according to WKOnline Quid Pro Quo has dropped 87, 316 places in the Sales Rank from #35,844 to #123,160- it's highest place to date was 30,324. The Basement Tapes has dropped 440 places from #66,935 to #67,375 in the same period.
05.30 - Someone made a nice post to the KasimSulton2 Mailing List about the concert that Kasim Sulton played with Meat Loaf on Sunday in Sydney, Australia. In part it said:
"We were able to get a message to Kasim backstage, and he was nice enough to come up and chat to my husband and I before
the show! We were blown away when Kasim came out with his guitar to warm up for Meat! (He looked awesome, great suit!) Did "Don't Hold Me Back", "Before She Was Gone" and "Sacrifice". He was so good with the audience, threw in a bit of humour and shameless plugging of Quid Pro Quo before he finished his set. The Meat Loaf show was awesome. Of course Kasim's bass and background vocals were unreal, kept me smiling most of the show to hear him singing! ("This is big time, this is larger than life") Met two nice Kasim/Meat fans who flew in from Denver, they were in the 1st row and had also seen the Melbourne show!"
05.15 - According to Meat Loaf's latest rant on MLUKFC (he posts under the name Fire Ball) his last ever concert will be on 17th March in Christchurch, New Zealand. Before people rush to buy flights to New Zealand, please remember that this post was written while he was upset and things can always change. If it does actually prove to be true, then obviously this will have a big impact on Kasim's workload.
Tuesday 24th February 2004
21.00 - Several pages of photos by Adrian Donoghue of Kasim's concert with Meat Loaf in Belfast, Northern Ireland on 15th December have been added to the Meat Loaf's Couldn't Have Said It Better World Tour section of the site or click here for the direct link.

05.15 - This is the link to the company that make the ear pieces that Kasim Sulton photographed. Kasim is not mentioned by name as one of their clients but Meat Loaf is listed.
05.00 - Overnight someone posted to a Meat Loaf mailing list a review of the second Melbourne concert which included the phrase "The show was supposed to start at 7:30pm and that is the time Kasim came out and sang 3 songs and made comments about just him and his guitar entertaining a Meat Loaf crowd - I thought he was excellent - then the lights went back up and he disappeared for a while cos at 7:30 the hall was only half full - in fact at 8pm people were still getting seated ".

19.45 - Kasim Sulton has updated his Journal on KasimSulton.com with some photos - (as the site takes a long time to download on dial-up) click here for the direct link. Many thanks to Rebecca Reese for noticing this.
05.15 - There are two conflicting reviews of Kasim's opening set at the concert he played on Friday in Melbourne. (As one of them is on a board that has a tendency to be erased, I'll replicate them both below.) This review on a Meat Loaf messageboard describes his set as:
"Meat's music director and bass player, Kasim Sulton, provided the evening's support. Having introduced himself, Kasim said the band had been rehearsing all week and that we were to be apart of a very special evening. Showcasing tunes from his solo album, Kasim's talent and dignified charm was well received from the 12,000 capacity crowd."
This review on a Jim Steinman messageboard describes his set as:
"Before the show, Kasim Sulton played I think three songs from his new album, not bad, but not attention grabbing either. I didn't buy his CD from the merchandise stand."
05.00 - Scott Van Dusen of Sphere Sound Records is holding an auction of various items signed by some big names to help raise some money for the family of 30-year veteran disc jockey, Unkle Roger McCall who was murdered in a failed robbery attempt in December. (Unkle Roger McCall was the voice of Kasim's radio advertisements.) One of the items is a vintage Utopia concert poster that has been signed by both Kasim Sulton and Todd Rundgren. More details are on the Sphere Sound Records website and an update will be added to this site nearer the time. The auctions commence the week beginning 17th March.
04.30 - Today starts the beginning of a new site addition each day for a week. The front page of the site has more details.
Sunday 22nd February 2004

Friday 20th February 2004
20.00 - Click here for some nice comments about Kasim Sulton's opening set at the Melbourne concert. In case it disappears at some point, it says:
"What a wonderful surprise to hear Kasim, my girlfriend and I hadn't heard him before, I will have to get his CD and see if I can work out what he sang, as I hadn't heard them before. He has two new fans !!!! "
19.15 - Click here for some video of the concert that Kasim played earlier today in Melbourne. Many thanks to Jennifer Salyer for this link.
06.30 - The Photos section of the site has been updated with some pictures of Kasim Sulton at a Meet and Greet recently. This is a taster of the "7 Days 7 Additions" which will be happening on KasimInfo.com next week. As well as all the usual Blog items that are added each day, 7 new pages will be added to the site (mainly photos but one new section too) starting on Monday.
