Kasim Sulton's week
14.00 - This week Kasim Sulton embarks on a VERY short tour as part of Todd Rundgren's band.
Apparently Todd is playing a couple of gigs (which Kasim is not playing) at the beginning of June so Todd is taking his band out for four gigs before that and the first two gigs are this week.
On Saturday 26th May they play Jacobs Pavillion at Nautica in Cleveland, OH and the following day they play at The State Theatre in State College, PA. (Next week they play two gigs in Evanston, IL.)
Saturday 19th May 2012
Kasim Sulton plays a Blue Oyster Cult gig tonight in Baraboo, WI
Kasim Sulton plays a Blue Oyster Cult gig tonight in Baraboo, WI
02.00 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays a gig as part of Blue Oyster Cult in Baraboo, WI which is about an hour north of Madison, WI. Last night they played a gig in St Charles, IL so they will have had about a 3 hour drive today.
The gig tonight is at the Ho-Chunk Casino in Baraboo, WI. The address of the venue is S3214 U.S. 12, Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Tickets for this gig were $35 General Admission (21 + only) but the gig has sold out.
Kansas are also playing at the gig tonight. As this is a casino, the set may be slightly shorter than a normal gig.
I believe that this will be Kasim Sulton's first appearance at this venue.
Friday 18th May 2012
Kasim Sulton plays a Blue Oyster Cult gig tonight in St Charles, IL
Tickets for this gig (from this link) vary from $29 to $69 (plus charges).
The opening act is M&R Rush and the gig starts at 8pm.
The Arcada Theatre was built in 1926 by local millionaire and Chicago Tribune cartoonist Lester J. Norris. Despite the town of St. Charles only having 5,000 residents at that time, the theater had 1,009 seats. It was opened as a popular stop on the Vaudeville circuit and artists who played here included George Burns, Gracie Allen, Olivia DeHavillandVincent Price and Maria Von Trapp.
In May 2005 Onesti Entertainment Corporation purchased the venue and the seating has been reduced to 900 seats but it still attracts some big names.
I believe that this will be Kasim Sulton's first appearance at this venue.

New Blue Oyster Cult gigs for Kasim Sulton
11.45 - On Friday 4th May KasimInfo.com reported that the four Blue Oyster Cult gigs which Kasim Sulton was to have played in Germany during June had been canceled by the promoter and that the rumour was that the band was trying to add their own gigs during that period.
The good news is that 3 gigs have been added to replace the cancelations (although not in the same cities).
The new gigs are:
Monday 11th June - Colos-Saal, Aschaffenburg, Germany
Tuesday 12th June - Hirsch, Nuremberg, Germany
Saturday 16th June - Zeche, Bochum, Germany
The band have also added the following gigs for US later in 2012:
Saturday 23rd June - Fort Knox Godman Airfield, Fort Knox, KY
Saturday 7th July - Paramount Center for the Arts, Peekskill, NY
Saturday 21st July - KGB-FM 101 Street Beat 2012, San Diego, CA
Friday 3rd August - Emerald Queen Casino, Tacoma, WA
Saturday 4th August - Trails End Concert Park, Sheridan, WY
As usual, there is no guarantee that Kasim will play all of these gigs. Whether he is playing them or not will be posted nearer the date.
These gigs are:
Saturday 26th May - Jacobs Pavillion at Nautica, Cleveland, OH
Sunday 27th May - The State Theatre, State College, PA
Tuesday 29th May - Space, Evanston, IL
Wednesday 30th May - Space, Evanston, IL
Apologies for being so late in posting these but Kasim only mentioned yesterday that he was playing them.
The venue and ticketing links have been added to the Kasim Sulton 2012 Gigs with Todd Rundgren section of KasimInfo.com but unfortunately the two Evanston, IL gigs have already sold out.
Kasim has announced that he will be playing some gigs with Todd Rundgren and written about some private gigs he's played plus some upcoming gigs with Blue Oyster Cult.
Kasim and the band will actually be playing two gigs tonight – one at 8pm and the other at 10.30pm. Door open at 6pm and 10pm respectively.
Tickets for this gig are $35 in advance or $40 on the door.
These gigs are General Admission Seating based on “First Come, First Seated.” These are all ages gigs and a full dinner menu is available.
As fae as I'm aware, this will be Kasim's first gig at this venue.
BOC gigs canceled
14.00 - Unfortunately four gigs by Blue Oyster Cult, which Kasim Sulton was to have played, have been canceled.
The gigs are the four which were in Germany in June and were part of the Rock The Nation Festivals.
Bad Company were the headline act and it appears that the promoter canceled all the festivals due to poor ticket sales.
Currently Blue Oyster Cult (with Kasim Sulton) are still scheduled to play gigs in Sweden, Spain and two in France that week and the rumour is that the band is trying to add their own gigs during that period.
Tickets for the German gigs can be returned to the box office for a refund.
The three new gigs are:
Saturday 2nd June - Arms Park, Manchester, NH
Friday 24th August - Sudbury Summerfest, Grace Hartman Amphitheatre, Sudbury, ON, Canada
Thursday 25th October - Showcase Live, Foxboro, MA
As always KasimInfo.com will post closer to the gigs whether or not Kasim will be playing each one.
Also a Blue Oyster Cult gig has been canceled. It was to have been played on Friday 15th June and was part of the Rock The Nation Festival at Arena Trier in Trier, Germany.
The Rock The Nation Festival are a series of concerts played around Germany. Blue Oyster Cult are playing those concerts in Berlin, Stuttgart and Monchengladbach but the concert in Trier has been canceled by the promoters.
The reason for the cancelation appears to be logistics as a number of bands (including Blue Oyster Cult) were playing a festival in Vitoria, Spain on Thursday 14th and in Monchengladbach, Germany on Saturday 16th. As Vitoria, Spain to Trier, Germany is a drive of over 14 hours it appears too far to play on consecutive days.
