Kasim Sulton in Somerville, MA tonight
08.15 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the seventh and final gig on his May 2010 Kasim Sulton Solo Tour. The gig is at Johnny D's in Somerville, MA (Boston).
Click here to view the venue website and here for more info about the gig. The address is 17 Holland Street, Davis Square, Sommerville, MA, 02144 and it is almost directly opposite The Somerville Theater. Davis Square is a really vibrant area with several places to go for music and dinner so is ideal for passing trade. (Tickets are available on the door if you do not wish to have dinner at the venue.)
This will be Kasim's second appearance at this venue. His first was almost exactly two years ago (on Tuesday 27th May 2008) although the restaurant and music club was opened in 1969 by the DeLellis family. The place was named after the father and the daughter Carla is now the current owner. The venue hosts an extensive range of events and artists as diverse as Emmylou Harris and The Dixie Chicks have played here.
Doors open tonight at 7.00pm for dinner reservations with the show starting at 8.00pm. The venue serves an extensive menu (click here for details) with the emphasis on healthy food that is reasonably priced.
The opening act tonight is Jacqueline Francis.
Kasim's set is scheduled to start at 9.30pm and is expected to last for between 75 to 90 minutes. After the gig, as usual, Kasim will be out to chat to people, sign autographs and pose for photos.

Kasim Sulton's gig in Cleveland, Ohio tonight
08.15 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the sixth gig on his May 2010 Kasim Sulton Solo Tour. The concert tonight is at The Beachland Ballroom which is about 10 miles outside the center of Cleveland, Ohio.
This will be Kasim's 9th solo gig at this venue. The last time that Kasim played here was on Sunday 15th March 2009 and prior to that was 22nd March 2008 when he played inside the larger Ballroom. Tonight he is playing in the more itimate Tavern (which has always been packed when he's played here before so arrive early!). The address of the venue is 15711 Waterloo Road, Cleveland, Ohio, 44110-1659 and the telephone number is 216 383 1124.
Kasim's last solo performance in Cleveland was on Saturday 17th October 2009 when he played with The Kasim Sulton Band in the city center at a venue called Wilberts and prior to that he was invited to play a solo set at The Rock'n'Roll Hall Of Fame in the city on Saturday 26th September 2009 so in fact this will be Kasim's 12th solo gig in Cleveland!
Doors open tonight at 6.00pm (as it is a Sunday) with the show starting at 7.00pm. Tickets are $20 on the door or the more expensive option is to pay $22.25 to buy them online at this link!
The venue does not list any oening act for tonight.

Kasim Sulton in Grand Rapids, MI tonight
10.00 - Tonight Kasim Sulton is playing the fifth gig of seven on his May 2010 Kasim Sulton Solo Tour. The gig tonight is at the Eve Lounge within The B.O.B. in Grand Rapids, MI. This will be Kasim's first solo gig in this city.
The B.O.B. stands for "Big Old Building" and is located at 20 Monroe Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Within The B.O.B. is a collection of bars, restaurants, stores and a theater.
Kasim's exact venue is the Eve Lounge. Click here for the venue website but it looks like a very stylish venue (hopefully with good concert lighting!).
Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm. Michael Crittenden of Troll For Trout will be the opening act.

Kasim Sulton on TV and radio today
13.15 - This morning at about 11.30am Kasim Sulton was on the paid advertising show called Eight West on WOOD TV 8 (NBC) sandwiched between a section about a local deli and a wrinklies yoga group!
The two hosts spoke briefly to Kasim and then he played Sacrifice live in the studio. Click here to see a video of his appearance.
About two hours later Kasim was also interviewed on the radio station WYCE 88.1FM. He played Watching The World Go By in the studio and Michael Crittenden (who will be opening for Kasim tomorrow) was also there and played a song. Click here and here to listen to this interview.
Both of these appearances were to promote his gig in Grand Rapids on Saturday evening.

23.15 - Kasim Sulton will be on the show called Eight West on WOOD TV 8 (NBC) sometime between 11am and noon tomorrow EST. The channel also streams online at this link.
Kasim will also be interviewed on the radio station WYCE 88.1FM at 1.40pm EST. This station stream online at this link.
Both of these stations are in the Grand Rapids, MI area and are to promote his gig in the city on Saturday evening.

07.15 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the third gig on his May 2010 Kasim Sulton Solo Tour. The gig tonight is at the Westport Flea Market Bar & Grill in Kansas City, MO.
The address of the venue is 817 Westport Road, Kansas City, MO 64111 and Kasim will be playing the first gig in the 2010 Folkommotion series of concerts.
The gig starts at 8pm (doors open at 7pm) and tickets are just $15 (cash) on the door. This is an All Ages gig. The opening act is Alan White.
Folkommotion is described on its website as follows:

Folkommotion was born then.
Folkommotion is a concert series designed to encourage acoustic music, both local and "national" artists have appeared. Recap of Kasim Sulton's first two solo gigs
09.15 - On Saturday evening Kasim Sulton played the first gig of this solo tour in Chicago, IL and last night he played his second in Fort Atkinson, WI.
The set lists, photos and reviews will be added soon but both gigs were well received by the audiences. Kasim played for 1 hour and 33 minutes in Chicago and for 1 hour 25 minutes in Fort Atkinson.
Although there were a number of songs that Kasim played at both gigs, each set was unique with some different songs on his set list. For example he played Watching The World Go By extra in Chicago and Cliche in Fort Atkinson.
A new addition to his set on this tour is Keep It In Mind (That I Love You So) which he used to play in his first professional band. He is also playing Love Alone followed by a brief extract of Eternal Love and slightly different versions of both Sacrifice and The God Of Low. Kasim has said that he plans to play at least one new song before the end of his tour.
Kasim is playing two different guitars and keyboards on this tour.
