Kasim Sulton in Englewood, NJ last night
07.00 - A full review and the set list will be posted later but a few notes from the Todd Rundgren gig that Kasim Sulton played at Bergen Performing Arts Center last night are:
They played for almost exactly two hours but they were obviously very aware that there was a strict curfew so they finished at 10.58pm.
Consequently there was one song that they started but Todd said he couldn't remember all the first verse so they stopped it and went onto the next song (again Todd mentioned the curfew).
Todd switched between his green guitar he calls Foamy and his new one that he introduced as Butters (it's a cream colour). He constantly switched between the two during the set.
They interspersed the Johnson music with songs from Todd's own catalogue that had a "bluesy feel" - songs like Soul Brother, I Went To The Mirror, Weakness and Kiddie boy. The most famous songs (and most popular) in the set were Open My Eyes and I Saw The Light.
The latter song was part of the three song encore with Tiny Demons and Hamburger Hell.
Security was very strict at the venue with the guards stopping people taking photos but people stood at the front of the stage for the encore so couldn't be stopped.
All four of them wore all black on stage and all wore glasses throughout the whole set.
Kasim was playing a different guitar tonight. It was a black and white one and then he switched to his cream coloured guitar for the encore.
Kasim sang less in this set than I've ever sing him sing on a tour before

Kasim Sulton in Salisbury, MA tonight
06.45 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the second gig of the Todd Rundgren Johnson's Music Tour. The gig tonight is in Salisbury, MA.
The venue is called the Blue Ocean Music Hall but until 3 days ago it was called the Tupelo Music Hall. The address of the venue is 4 Ocean Front North, Salisbury, MA 01952 and apparently the venue is right on the beach front with views out over the ocean. The website states "waves actually break underneath the building!" Click here to view the new venue website. The venue only opened last November so this is Kasim Sulton's first appearance here.
The website says that no seat is further than 50 feet from the stage and the seats are arranged around tables. The capacity is 500 seated. Tickets vary in price bewteen $50 and $40 and can be purchased from this link. However a few days ago there were only two seats available for this gig but at different tables.
The ticketing page for this gig mentions Kasim Sulton by name:

Todd Rundgren news
17.15 - ToddRundgrenArenaBlogspot says that Todd Rundgren was interviewed on Internet radio earlier this week.
The items discussed that may (or may not) involve Kasim Sulton were:
Todd will be playing some gigs in Japan in October.
The gig on 11th April will be available online as a Pay-Per-View event.
There are discussions about a possible UK tour of Todd's Arena album.
Kasim played bass on Todd's Johnson album (both the long and short versions of the album).
The set list for Todd's April gigs will include some of his own songs which either have not been played for a long time or never played live on stage before.
Unlike Todd's Arena tour, not all of the Johnson album will be played at the April gigs.

April Fool's Day
08.00 - I received a few emails yesterday from people who couldn't see the April Fool's Day joke on KasimInfo.com yesterday. After nine years I decided to have a break this year (so maybe that was the April Fool's joke in itself!)
KasimInfo.com has a history of April Fool's Day tricks over the years. In 2002 a lot of people were fooled by a spoof interview from Rolling Stone Magazine with Kasim that was added. Click here to read it. When it was posted it had loads of Rolling Stone logos too. Some of the Kasim quotes are genuine but some were fabricated. Ironically the part about Kasim opening for Meat Loaf even actually came true (when I wrote this spoof, I had got him listed on Pollstar a few times and they assumed that was opening for Meat Loaf but we didn't know then that Kasim Sulton would eventually open most of the concerts). This was one of the best interviews that Kasim didn't do!
In 2003 there was a very mild prank as it was just listed on the "This Day" section "On This Day in 1994 Kasim Sulton changed his socks" or something mild like that.
In 2004 a business card that was supposed to have been Kasim's was posted to the website. (Click here to view it.) That year someone did e-mail to complain that they didn't think it a good idea to post Kasim's telephone number on the website!
In 2005 there was the infamous DougInfo.com page.
In 2006 there was The Nude Cars photo (which fooled at least one member of the band!).
And in 2007 the Blog was changed to be Sunday 1st April 2018!
In 2008 the front page of KasimInfo.com was changed because Kasim Sulton's name has frequently been mis-spelt so there was a page of his name spelt Kazim Sultan. It can be viewed here.)
And last year the Blog page had news totally unrelated to Kasim. Click here to view it.
