Anybody who ever met Shelle was touched by her friendliness and fun-loving nature. An example is that at Kasim's gig in New Haven in 2006 she went round to every single table there and introduced herself and then introduced people to others which made it one of the friendliest gigs ever! Shelle was probably Kasim's first ever fan. I remember her telling me the story about how she saw his first gig with Utopia and then he was amazed at how she remembered him (and of course being Shelle chatted to him!) at his second gig with the band. Kasim said several times at his recent gigs that he couldn't play a gig where Shelle was in the audience without playing One World! (I must admit that I used to look at Shelle a lot during that song as she used to get so into it which was just wonderful to watch!). It was also Shelle that arranged the big dinner for loads of fans after Kasim's Holiday gig in December 2006 and ensured that he even joined us too!

On a personal note I often experienced Shelle's genorisity of spirit as she was frequently e-mailing to say which of her friends were at certain gigs and hooking us all up! Certainly I'll never forget her helping me out after I'd only met her a couple of times when I had problems with car hire on one trip. As she lived nearby I rang to ask her for a ride to one gig and she sorted out all the car hire problems and ensured that I didn't have to spent the weekend stuck at JFK Airport! An indication of how much people liked her is that when I last spoke to her on the phone a couple of weeks ago she told me that there were usually about 10 people in her house now each weekend!

Apparently Shelle's good friend Godfrey Townsend is performing an annual George Harrison Birthday Tribute Show this Sunday 2/24 at 7.30 pm and many of Shelle's friends are gathering at this show in her honor. All are welcome so please let others know. The details are:

The Todd Rundgren 2008 Tour section of KasimInfo.com has been updated with venue and ticketing links (although the majority of the websites are in Japanese).

Kasim mentions his gigs in Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, Chicago and Cleveland but not his one at The Bitter End in New York City on the 28th of the month.

Kasim also says that he is still planning to play a gig in Austin, Texas in 17 days time but he still does not know the venue yet!

Apparently Todd is currently working on the album and aims to tour to promote it from July. Fans have reported hearing that Kasim may be involved in both the recording and touring for the album.

Todd also says about The New Cars in the article that they are on "indefinite hiatus at this point, though it's open to regroup for corporate and private dates".

Kasim is well known for making time afterwards for everyone at his gigs (he once stayed almost two hours after one Chicago gig!) so if it runs late he usually moves across to the bar part of the venue which is next door (but within the same building).

Doors for Kasim's performance open at 6.30pm and the show starts at 7.00pm. It has not been announced yet whether ot not there will be an opening act. Click here to order tickets for the gig.

This one shows their appearance on the Australian TV show Tonight Live singing Starting All Over Again. Kasim is shown (playing the upright bass!) between Hall and Oates. Kasim does not sing but there was a famous quote that when he played with this band he was asked not to as his voice was "too distinctive"!

This video is another performance of Starting All Over Again but this time is from their accoustic tour of Japan in 1991. Kasim is playing the stand-up bass again and is located behind one of them so is barely visible.

This video is the video for the song Don't Hold Back Your Love from their Change Of Season album. Kasim is shown on the beach scenes between Hall and Oates towards the end of the video.

Kasim said on Rundgren Radio last night that he had been told that he was listed as the headliner and didn't believe it but he is the final act playing after the awards ceremony from 6.30pm until 8.00pm!

"I have a hard time calling this a tour as it's only a few dates right now."
"Doug Kennedy will be playing with Kasim on the dates and Kasim is working on having one more person also playing guitar with him. Kasim mentioned Randy Flowers and Jesse Gress (plus joked that he's waiting for Eric Clapton to get back to him!)."
"The shows will be the same format as gigs in other years plus he will have some newer material. It will be 3 guitars (no piano)."
"Kasim will be back on Rundgren Radio next Wednesday for a 2 hour show talking telephone calls on the air from fans."

He says that his "cyst popped after four weeks" and that the doctors are "just worried about a little white scar, but they've released me to start doing vocal warm-ups". (The previous update on his condition was at the beginning of January when he said that it "could be 6 months to a year" so this is a great improvement.)

Fans have reported that Meat Loaf has told them that he hopes to tour Australia (in October or November), Europe and even Asia towards the end of this year.

Hopefully with Todd Rundgren expecting to tour in the summer, a fall / winter tour with Meat Loaf will fit in well for Kasim Sulton.
