Todd Rundgren MidWest Tour
16.00 - It appears that tickets for the Todd Rundgren January 2008 Tour are selling really well! The gig in Chicago on 25th January sold out within a couple of days so an extra gig was added to the end of the tour in that city!

Kasim on The Abbey Pub website
01.15 - Thanks to several fans contacting the venue, The Abbey Pub in Chicago, IL (where Kasim Sulton will be playing a gig on Friday 21st March) now spells both his name and The Kasim Sulton Band correctly!
A correction has also been made to the listing on TicketWeb.com but unfortunately it was too late for some tickets which had already been mailed (see below).

All Sides is one of the most played albums of 2007!
16.45 - Kasim Sulton's latest album All Sides appears on the list of the 66 most played albums in 2007 on The Time Machine which broadcasts out of Hawaii.
Other albums on the list include ones by artists such as The Eagles, Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, Norah Jones, Paul McCartney (listed just under All Sides!), America, Hanson and Flight Of The Conchords.

Update on Meat Loaf
01.15 - A couple of weeks ago Meat Loaf was asked on his official website MeatLoaf.net if his throat is getting better. (He had to cut short the second European leg of his tour in November due to a cyst on a vocal chord.) His response was "Not much, it could be 6 months to a year".
Next month Kasim Sulton was to have toured Australia with Meat Loaf but that tour was canceled when the cyst was discovered. Kasim's next tour is as part of Todd Rundgren's band and starts on 16th January in Cleveland, Ohio.

Kasim Sulton in Performing Musician Magazine
01.15 - As previously reported on KasimInfo.com, there is an interview with Kasim Sulton in the January edition of the British magazine Performing Musician. Scans of the article have been added to the Press section of the website.
As well as discussing Kasim's basses, amplifiers and splitters, he also discusses the duties involved in being Meat Loaf's Musical Director, playing solo, recording and playing as part of a band. One nice quote in the article is "As a solo artist is where I get the most joy, because I just get to go up there and do my songs my way and the way I feel they should be done. And it is a lot easier for me, as I just get up there with my acoustic guitar and play my stuff."
The magazine has an official circulation of 14,400 and is available at the newsagents WH Smith and Son in UK. Alternatively it can be purchased from this link (they mail worldwide).

Tickets on sale for Kasim's gig in Chicago
01.15 - Tickets are now on sale online for Kasim Sulton's own gig at The Abbey Pub in Chicago, IL on Friday 21st March. Click here to purchase tickets.
Tickets are $25 both in advance and at the door. Although there are extra costs buying online in advance, it is highly recommended as Kasim's biggest audiences are usually at this venue so the show could easily sell out.
(Unfortunately TicketWeb.com also spells Kasim's surname incorrectly!)

Kasim's gig listed on Abbey Pub website
02.45 - Kasim Sulton's gig at The Abbey Pub in Chicago, IL on Friday 21st March is now listed on the venue website here.
The good news is that it is officially announced that Kasim will be playing with a band as it lists the gig as "An Evening With Kasim Sulton and The Kasim Sulton Band"!!!
The bad news is that Kasim's name is spelt in a couple of "imaginative" ways! His name is spelt both Kasium and Sultan!
The website also claims that Kasim was a songwriter for both Meat Loaf (another name spelt incorrectly!) and The New Cars!

02.00 - It was seven years ago today that KasimInfo.com opened!!!
Prior to that Kasim Sulton - A Fan's View ran from 1998 until 12/31/2000 and at 9.00am on 1st January 2001 KasimInfo.com opened!
The aim of KasimInfo.com has always been to provide as much info about Kasim Sulton as possible for his fans, plus to promote him as far as any fan website can. Although this website isn't technically an official website, thankfully info is usually received from official sources, plus Kasim has been kind enough to list KasimInfo.com on his albums Quid Pro Quo and All Sides.
To celebrate KasimInfo.com's 7th birthday, the front page of the website (here) has had a slight facelift. A few items have been dropped to make the website easier to update each day (e.g. the "On This Day" section, the Quotes, the Internet bumper stickers and the photos which changed each day) but hopefully the navigation of the site will have improved!
On a personal note, I'd like to thank everyone who has supplied photos, reviews and info to KasimInfo.com over the past 7 years and to everyone who has taken the time to e-mail about the website.
Roll on the next 7 years of KasimInfo.com!

Kasim Sulton's spent the majority of 2007 touring with Meat Loaf. They toured US and Canada from late February until April (some concerts were canceled due to Meat Loaf falling ill) and then Europe in May and June. From late July until early September they again toured US and Canada and then returned to Europe from 18th October. The tour was supposed to have lasted until 25th November but on 31st October the concert was cut short and then the whole tour was canceled as Meat Loaf developed a cyst on a vocal chord.
In July, between legs of the Meat Loaf tour, Kasim played 7 concerts as part of The New Cars and in September he played a 3 week tour of the West Coast as part of Todd Rundgren's band. They played 12 more gigs (this time on the East Coast) in December too.
Kasim also managed to fit in 7 solo gigs in January 2007 plus three between concerts on the Meat Loaf tour in August (this included his first solo gig in Canada). Kasim Sulton also released his 27-track, 2-CD compilation album All Sides in March 2007.
Obviously this synopsis of Kasim's 2007 doesn't take into account the days he spent rehearsing before tours or all the travel time involved.

13.00 - Apparently I was given some incorrect information as Kasim Sulton's Tour in March 2008 will not be called The Final Side Tour.
The name of the tour has not yet been announced but there are still 76 days until the first booked date!

Kasim Solo Dates for 2008!
07.00 - The first two solo dates have been announced for a Kasim Sulton 2008 Solo Tour! It's being called Kasim's 2008 All Sides Tour, The Final Side and will extend from around 28th February until around 28th March.
The two dates booked so far are:
Friday 21st March - The Abbey Pub, Chicago, Illinois
Saturday 22nd March - Beachland Ballroom, Cleveland, Ohio
There are also provisional dates booked as follows:
Saturday 8th March - A private party in Houston, Texas
Sunday 9th March - Venue TBA in Austin, Texas
Apparently gigs will also be booked in Florida, New York City, New Jersey, Indiana and others (including presumably Philadelphia, PA as there is the make-up gig from 3rd August 2007 still to play).

01.15 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 12th and final concert of the Todd Rundgren December 2007 Tour. The concert is at Toad's Place in New Haven, CT. Kasim has played Toad's Place a few times over the past few years, mostly recently on 19th August 2006 when he played a solo gig in the accoustic hall here and prior to that with Todd Rundgren on the With A Twist Tour.
Toad's Place has a very prestigous musical history as it's been open for 32 years and in that time as well as Todd Rundgren and Kasim Sulton, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, U2, The Kinks and Bob Dylan have all played here! Click here to view the venue webiste.
Tickets for the gig tonight are $25. Doors open at 8.00pm and the gig starts at 9.00pm.
This is the final gig on this leg of the tour but they will be back on stage in 29 days when the MidWest leg of the tour kicks off in Cleveland, Ohio!
