08.15 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 11th concert of the Todd Rundgren December 2007 Tour. The concert is at The Birchmere in Alexandria, VA.
The concert starts tonight at 7.30pm and tickets cost $35 (plus charges). Apparently The Birchmere is General Admission with all seating done on a first come, first served basis. To keep the process orderly, they use Line Numbers which are picked up at the box office upon arrival. The Music Hall is all seated with tables. At 5.00pm the Box Office opens and they start handing out Line Numbers to customers as they arrive the Box Office. At 6.00 when the Music Hall doors open, they begin seating by Line Number (i.e. the first person in at 5.00pm will be the first person in the Music Hall at 6.00pm).

07.15 - Following the item on this page on Friday 14th (01.15 EST), the January edition of Performing Musician Magazine (which contains an interview with Kasim Sulton) will be published this coming Friday (21st) in UK. Although the magazine is an industry magazine it is stocked by the nationwide chain of newsagents W.H. Smiths.

09.45 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 10th of 12 concerts on the Todd Rundgren December 2007 Tour. The concert is at the Art Nouveau design Calvin Theater in Northampton, MA.
The concert tonight starts at 8.00pm and tickets (from this link) are $38.50 and $28.50 (plus a per ticket transaction fee of $5.00 and a Historic Preservation Fee of $1.00). This is a seated gig and the best seats currently available are in row M (behind the orchestra pit). The venue website is here and the address is 19 King Street, Northampton, MA, 01060.
For 70 years until 1994 this venue was originally a movie theater. Now it is owned and managed by Iron Horse Entertainment. They keep an online Blog here.

New Interview with Kasim Sulton
01.15 - There will be a new interview with Kasim Sulton published in the January edition of the British magazine Performing Musician. This magazine was originally called Music Mart but it was relaunched as Performing Musician in October.
The magazine costs £2.95 (about $5) and is available from newsagents. More info will be posted about this interview soon.

15.15 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 9th concert of the Todd Rundgren December 2007 Tour. The concert is at the world famous Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ.
This venue originally opened as a cafe called Mrs. Jay's back in the 1960s. In 1974 (after the original cafe had closed) it reopened as The Stone Pomy. In the 19902 the venue was gutted and made into a dance club called Vinyl but that closed after only a year. On Memorial Day Weekend in 2000 the club opened again as The Stone Pony. The list of musicians who have played here is legendary but, of course, it includes New Jersey's own Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen!

Kasim Sulton in NYC tonight
12.30 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 8th concert of the Todd Rundgren December 2007 Tour. The concert is at The Blender Theatre at Gramercy in New York City, NY which is where they played the 7th concert of the tour last night. The address of the venue is 127 East 23rd Street, New York, NY 10010. The theater is located between Lexington Avenue and Park Avenue South. The venue holds 600.
This venue originally opened in 1937 as the Gramercy Park Theatre and, until recently, was mainly a movie theater. (It was also the location shoot for The Fugees video Killing me Softly.) In April 2007 it re-opened as a Live Nations venue for music gigs. It also hanged it's name to The Blender Theatre at Gramercy, named after Blender magazine. Last night was Kasim Sulton's first appearance at this venue.

Kasim Sulton's Week
06.00 - This week (Monday to Sunday) Kasim Sulton is on tour as part of Todd Rundgren's band. They have tonight and Friday night off and will be playing 2 gigs in New York City tomorrow and Wednesday nights, in Asbury Park, NJ on Thursday night, in Northampton, MA on Saturday night and in Alexandria, VA on Sunday night.
These will be the 7th to 11th gigs of this 12 concerts, 17 days, 8 states, 4,300 miles tour.

Kasim Sulton in Buffalo, NY
10.00 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 5th concert of the Todd Rundgren December 2007 Tour. The concert is at The Tralf in Buffalo, NY. The address of the venue is 622 Main Street, Buffalo, NY, 14202.
This venue sells a selection of food (ribs, burgers etc). Apparently The Tralf had money problems back in 2005 and closed in June of that year but managed to re-open in the Fall. Originally it was known as The Trafalmadore Cafe.
Click here to view the venue website. Tickets for this concert sold out about a month ago (although some scalpers were selling a pair online for $500!). Tickets were $29.50 (plus charges) and doors open at 7.00pm, with the gig starting at 8.00pm. This is an 21+ show.
