Apparently Antone's was first located on 6th street when it opened in the summer of 1975. Since then stars such as Bono of U2, Eric Clapton, Bruce Willis and Elvis Costello have all played here. As far as I can determine this will be Kasim Sulton's first appearance on this stage.

Dallas, TX to Austin, TX is 195 miles almost due south which will have taken just over 3 hours by road. (Of course Kasim Sulton will have already traveled the 1,547 miles from Staten Island, NY to Dallas, TX before the first concert.)

These will be the 2nd to 6th gigs of this 12 concerts, 17 days, 8 states, 4,300 miles tour.

It's unclear at the moment exactly what will be broadcast but apparently they are hoping to air at least the first 3 songs of the concert plus interviews with fans at the gig.

The broadcast starts tonight at 8.00pm EST and will be available online afterwards if you miss it live.

The concert tonight is at The House Of Blues in Dallas, Texas which apparently is an old converted warehouse. The address of the venue is White Swan Building, 2200 N. Lamar Street, Dallas, TX 75202 - click here for the venue website. Tickets are $27.50 for General Admission floor, $45 for balcony seats and $85 box seating. A week or so ago, there were General Admission tickets, seats were available in the 5th row of the balcony but all the boxes seem to have been sold. Click here to purchase tickets.

Doors for the gig open at 6.30pm and the concert starts at 7.30pm. The venue can hold up to 1,650 people. Apparently the stage is 30 foot wide and 25 feet deep with a wooden finish and is 4 foot six high. There is also a 400 seat restaurant specializing in Southern-inspired cuisine such as Creole jambalaya and Tennessee baby back ribs. Apparently the concert is screened through the restaurant live.

In September 2007 Kasim played 11 gigs on the West Coast with Todd Rundgren and starting tomorrow Kasim will be playing 12 gigs in 17 days on the East Coast with him (plus Todd played gigs in April and May with Tony Levin on bass). Currently it seems unsure whether Prairie Prince or Michael Urbano will be playing drums on the January leg.
