There are some interesting reviews on the Amazon website (but none unfortunately mention Kasim Sulton by name.

Kasim Sulton and Thanksgiving
01.15 - Being a touring musician means that often Kasim Sulton can not spend Thanksgiving with his family. This year he was supposed to be playing a concert in Belfast, Northern Ireland until the Meat Loaf tour was canceled. (Kasim descibed it in his online jounal on 6th October as "once again, I get to miss Thanksgiving at my Sisters house!".)
Last year Kasim was on tour as part of The New Cars during Thanksgiving. The day before they played a concert in Detroit, MI and the day after they played in Clear Lake, IA.
In both 2005 and 2004 Kasim was actually at home for Thanksgiving as it was around the time that he was playing on Broadway in Movin' Out. In 2005 he played the afternoon performances on both the Wednesday and Friday but he had the Thursday off. In 2004 Kasim played the matinee and evening performances on the Friday but nothing earlier that week.
In 2003 Kasim was again away from his family as he spent Thanksgiving in London, England. Meat Loaf had collapsed on stage the previous week (which resulted in him having an operation) and, despite them not playing any concerts until Tuesday 2nd December, they all had to stay in UK in order to comply with the tour insurance. Obviously Thanksgiving is not celebrated (or even recognized) in Europe but hopefully the band had their own celebration.
In 2002 Kasim Sulton was again on tour with Meat Loaf. There was no concert on Thanksgiving Day itself but the day before they played in Verona, NY and on the Friday they played in Elmira, NY.
2001 saw Kasim back in Europe for Thanksgiving as he was touring again with Meat Loaf but this time on The Night Of The Proms Tour. During Thanksgiving week they were playing concerts at The Ahoy in Rotterdam, Holland and actually played a gig on the Thursday.
2000 saw Kasim at home for Thanksgiving as he completed the Todd Rundgren Power Trio Tour back in August and didn't tour again any more that year.
In 1999 Kasim Sulton was on the Meat Loaf StoryTellers Tour. However they played a concert on the Tuesday in Buffalo, NY and the next concert was on the Friday in Rochester, NY so it's possible that Kasim returned home for Thanksgiving.
In 1998 Kasim was at home for Thanksgiving but in 1997 he was on the Todd Rundgren With A Twist Tour although it's quite likely that he went home for Thanksgiving as they played a gig in New York City on the Wednesday and in Boston, MA on the Friday.
So that's a look at where Kasim Sulton spent Thanksgiving over the past 10 years and I'm sure that all readers of KasimInfo.com would like to join in wishing Kasim a good (and well deserved!) Thanksgiving with his family this year.

Meat Loaf European Tour Canceled
14.00 - At about 9.00am (UK time) this morning the listing for the Meat Loaf concert that Kasim Sulton was due to play in London, England, was removed from the TicketMaster website. Soon afterwards fans reported receiving telephone calls and e-mails from various ticketing agencies saying that the concert would not be going ahead tonight but would be rescheduled to a new date. At this point the venue was still saying that they had heard nothing and they thought that the concert was still going ahead! A couple of hours later the venue confirmed that the concert was canceled.
Around lunchtime in UK a press statement was released which stated that Meat Loaf had a cyst on his vocal chords and that the remainder of the European tour between now and 29th November had been cancelled.
Below is an extract from the statement:
"After cancelling gigs in Manchester and Birmingham, it was announced on Tuesday that Meat Loaf had been diagnosed with an "inter-vocal cord cyst".
While most cysts of this type require surgery, voice therapy is usually conducted first to determine if it is necessary.
Doctors will determine in about four to six weeks what further course of action may be required.
In a statement, Meat Loaf said: "I was really looking forward to capping off a great year and celebrating the start of the holidays with the fans.
"But I have to do what the doctors tell me so I can look forward to healing and coming back strong in 2008.
"Let me dispel any rumours before they start - I will be back.""
Fans have also reported that e-mails have been sent from various ticketing agencies instructing them to return their tickets from where they bought them for a refund.

Kasim Sulton at Wembley Arena, London tonight
01.15 - Tonight Kasim Sulton is expected to play another concert on the second European leg of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour. The concert tonight is at the newly refurbished Wembley Arena on the outskirts of London, England. Currently all the signs are that the concert will be going ahead.
Wembley Arena has had an interesting history as in 1924, the British Empire Exhibition opened in Wembley with exhibition buildings dedicated to the countries and the professions of the Empire. The Empire Exhibition featured lakes and parks alongside buildings dedicated to arts, industries and engineering. The Wembley Stadium stood across the road from the Palaces of India, Canada and Australia. Although hugely successful as a visitor attraction, the exhibition was not profitable and the land was soon divided among different owners. Some of the buildings fell into disrepair, whilst others found new uses once the exhibition itself had closed. In 1934 the new Empire Pool was constructed at Wembley in just six months. This large public swimming facility boasted two pools and a wave machine, and was used for a host of public events from the 1934 Empire Games to boxing, ice hockey, the 1948 Olympics and music events. Over time, these music events were to develop into the lifeblood of the Empire Pool, especially when Rock 'n' Roll became popular. With a temporary cover across the swimming pool and a stage at one end, the venue became famous for hosting the big names of the day, including The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.
In 1978 the Empire Pool became Wembley Arena with a 12,000-seat capacity. Over the years, anyone who is anyone has played Wembley Arena: Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Barbra Streisand, Kylie Minogue, Queen, The Who, Led Zeppelin, George Michael, Lionel Richie, Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Cher, David Bowie – the list is endless!
Following a spectacular £35m ($70m) refurbishment Wembley Arena reopened in April 2006. Tonight Kasim Sulton played his third concert at the venue since the refurbishment (the first two being in May'07). For a fan visiting a concert the areas outside the concert hall have all been greatly improved with more modern looking merchandise and food facilities. They have also changed the back of the venue into the front plus added a display of fountains outside where fans can choose to run between (and most get soaked!). Unfortunately the seating inside the venue has not been greatly improved as this "premiere venue" still has cheap-looking plastic seats!
The concert starts at 7.30pm and Pearl Aday will again be the opening act. Limited tickets (in the back block so bring binoclers!) are available for this concert.

Reports about Meat Loaf concert cancelations
12.15 - Several more articles have appeared online today with the news that Meat Loaf has canceled his second concert after cutting short the concert on Wednesday in Newcastle. These include Manchester Evening News, GigWise.com and NME.com.
The reason quoted in the articles is "acute laryngitis" although no official word about these two cancelations has been posted by Meat Loaf's official website MeatLoaf.net. (The latest update on that website still says that the concert on Friday in Birmingham was going ahead.)
Fans have reported receiving telephone calls and e-mails from various ticket agencies about tonight's cancelation but no word has been received by fans who bought their tickets through Meat Loaf's official fan club.

Meat Loaf Tour in the news
10.00 - Since the curtailment of the Meat Loaf concert on Wednesday evening in Newcastle, England, there have been numerous reports in various newspapers, radio stations, local television news and online about the tour. Not surprisingly none of them have mentioned Kasim Sulton but the BBC (a national British station) website here features (part of!) a photo of him plus the video (link on the right of the page) has clips of Kasim on stage with Meat Loaf.
Various articles (of varying degrees of accuracy) regarding the shortened Newcastle gig appeared in TimesOnline.co.uk (Not A Dry Eye In The House was not sung at the concert), NYTimes.com, GigWise.com, TheShieldsGazette.com and another from TheShieldsGazette.com, plus there is an article about fans wanting a refund.
After the press release from Meat Loaf's management there were articles about the tour continuing in (amongst others) The Northern Echo, ThisIsNottingham.co.uk,
RTE-Ireland,
GigWise.com,
BBC.co.uk,
The Press Association and
NME.com.
Articles about the Birmingham concert being canceled at short notice last night include ,
BBC.co.uk,
AFP.com and The Press Association.
Despite the Birmingham concert being canceled almost 24 hours ago now, there is still no official announcement on Meat Loaf's official website MeatLoaf.net and the free part of it's forum is still unavailable.
The next concert on the tour is scheduled to be tomorrow in Manchester, England. The venue website has a notice on their website here stating that the concert is still due to go ahead.
MLUKFC.com has a thread about the canceled concert here (unfortunately it's another board where you have to be a member to view it, although membership is free) and most people have complained about the late notification of the cancelation and the fact that most fans had already traveled to the venue before they were told.

01.15 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 8th concert on the second European leg of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour. The concert is at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) Arena in Birmingham (pronounced "Birmin'am"!), England.
The National Exhibition Centre (NEC) is the seventh largest exhibition centre in Europe. It has 21 interconnected halls, set in 628 acres. The NEC was opened by Queen Elizabeth II in February 1976. The National Exhibition Centre is the busiest exhibition centre in Europe too, staging more than 180 exhibitions each year, ranging from world-famous public shows such as Crufts Dog Show to international trade exhibitions. Up to four million people visit the centre each year. As well as lots of exhibitions the venue also stages concerts several nights each week. It seats 13,000 people.
The concert tonight starts at 7.30pm and the doors open at 6.00pm. The opening act is Pearl Aday and the show is expected to finish around 10.45pm. Yesterday there were still a few tickets available in the back side blocks.

The following is an official statement received from Meat Loaf's management company regarding last night’s show and the future of the tour:
MEDIA ALERT
"3 OUT OF 3 AIN’T BAD"
Newcastle, UK (November 1, 2007) – Meat Loaf’s “Three Bats Tour” continues on, offering fans in upcoming arenas a rare chance to see their favorite singer live for the third time this year!
Despite feeling ill, Meat Loaf took the stage and performed at Newcastle’s Metro Arena last night. His comments as he left the stage served to thank fans for their support over the last year and to announce that these would be his last songs in Newcastle in 2007.
Meat Loaf is on his way to Birmingham, where the “Three Bats Tour” will continue as scheduled. Though he is due to be evaluated by doctors – and some reports have even suggested that he may have died! – none of the shows on the tour have been cancelled.
Upcoming dates on Meat Loaf’s "Three Bats Tour" – many of which are an unheard-of third chance to see Meat Loaf in an arena this year – are as follows:
02.11.07 Birmingham, UK Birmingham NEC
04.11.07 Manchester, UK MEN Arena
06.11.07 London, UK Wembley Arena
08.11.07 Nottingham, UK Nottingham Arena
11.11.07 Cardiff, UK Cardiff Arena
13.11.07 Horsens, DEN Forum
15.11.07 Bergen, NOR Grieghallen
17.11.07 Stockholm, SWE Hovet
20.11.07 Rotterdam, NET Ahoy
22.11.07 Belfast, UK Odyssey
24.11.07 Killarney, IRE INEC
Meat Loaf’s manager, Tenth Street Entertainment CEO Allen Kovac, said "After working with Meat Loaf for 15 years, I’ve never seen an Artist as dedicated to performing for his fans as he did in Newcastle. The internet is a double-edged sword: news travels fast but unsubstantiated rumors travel faster."

Dramatic end to the Meat Loaf concert in Newcastle, England last night
03.00 - There was a dramatic end to the Meat Loaf concert that Kasim Sulton played last night in Newcastle, England as an hour into the concert, after 9 songs, Meat Loaf announced that he had 5 more to sing and that they were going to be the last time he sang them as this was to be his last ever concert! The intro to Paradise By The Dashboard Light was played but Meat Loaf said that he couldn't perform any more and left the stage.
There was an announcement by the venue asking people to wait 3 or 4 minutes so that they could find out what was happening and then they announced that Meat Loaf was sick and the concert wouldn't be continuing.
Two local newspapers have reported here and here that he had a sore throat and there is a thread about it on MLUKFC.com here (you have to be a member to read it). The messageboard attached to Meat Loaf's official website MeatLoaf.net is not working today (whether that is related to last night is not known).
The next scheduled concert on the tour is tomorrow night in Birmingham, England.
A review and photos of the concert will be added to KasimInfo.com later.
