KasimSulton.com
16.30 - Kasim Sulton's official website KasimSulton.com has been updated to give it a background of Kasim's latest album All Sides.
Another update is that it has the Kasim quote from Variety.com about Meat Loaf's forthcoming DVD (see KasimInfo.com Blog on 9/5/07 at 1.00am EST for details) plus the Todd Rundgren 2007 Tour dates have been added to the website.
The website now looks like the graphic below, with the previous design of the website shown below that:

Websites Closing
13.15 - It's always sad when websites close, especially ones that have been online for a number of years but unfortunately in the past few months three Meat Loaf websites (which sometimes used to mention Kasim Sulton) have closed, changed their focus or stopped being updated respectively as follows:
MeatLoafOnline.com
According to its Whois record this website started in 2000 and was a great source for up to date news about Meat Loaf and the band. They were especially good at mentioning Kasim Sulton items and it included a messageboard that was well moderated by several fans worldwide. The website now just has a holding page that redirects you to Patti Russo's page on MySpace.com.
MirrorOfTheSoul.com
According to its Whois record this website also started in 2000 and once had a very prolific messageboard plus was a website that kept up to date with all the Meat Loaf news and (at times constantly changing) tour dates. Currently this website just has a holding page with promises of new things to come but it is expected to no longer focus on Meat Loaf.
Meatloaf-Multimedia.com
Although officially this website is still open it hasn't been updated for about a year and the Kasim Sulton section still has both his Bio and Tour Dates listed from 2004. This website started in about 1997 and was one of the original websites about Meat Loaf although in recent years it featured more retrospective items rather than news. The website is still open so is a good place to visit for old videos.
More than most, I'm aware of how long it takes to keep a website open and current (especially for a musician like Kasim who is frequently on the road and involved in different projects) but it's always sad when a website is closed whether it's due to a change of the website owner's own circumstances or change of interest.
A few years ago there were lots of actual Meat Loaf websites online (and Kasim Sulton websites too) but now the shift seems to have been towards easier options like websites which mainly consist of a messageboard (e.g. Meat Loaf's official website MeatLoaf.net or MLUKFC.com) or MySpace pages which are easy to throw up and take little maintenance.

Meat Loaf Three Bats (Bat Out Of Hell III) Tour
14.30 - From Wednesday 18th July to Monday 3rd September Kasim Sulton spent 48 days on the road for the Meat Loaf 3 Bats Tour. They played 22 concerts (plus Kasim fitted in 3 solo gigs). The breakdown per state for the tour was:
New York - 6
Florida - 3
Pennsylvania - 3
New Jersey - 2
Georgia - 1
Connecticut - 1
Ohio - 1
New Hampshire - 1
Quebec - 1
Ontario - 1
Massachusetts - 1
Mississippi - 1
Venue to venue the tour covered a minimum of 7,361 miles (although this included two concerts at the same venue in New York City). There were a few times where the tour crossed roads where it had already passed previously (presumably due to the availability of the venues).
The total tour map showing all venues is:
As the latter 4 concerts make the scale of the map larger, this map shows the first 18 concerts and the way that the tour criss-crossed its route:
This map shows the final 4 concerts:
An analysis of the concerts will be added to KasimInfo.com soon.

Video on YouTube.com
12.30 - jrdmovimkr has added a really great video to YouTube.com here. It's an animation in Lego to Todd Rundgren's song Espresso (All Jacked Up) and is very clever as it fits the words perfectly!
Kasim is depicted by the character in the blue pants. (There's also a part at the end which depicts when Kasim Sulton broke his foot on stage in 2000.)

Kasim Sulton on the Todd Rundgren Tour
05.45 - Kasim Sulton started the 11 date Todd Rundgren 2007 Tour 10 days ago on Friday 7th September in Santa Cruz, CA and the tour ends in 6 days (Saturday 22nd) in West Hollywood, CA. Last night they played the 7th concert of the tour which was at the Silver Reef Casino in Ferndale (Bellingham), WA).
During this 16 day period (plus travel to and from the East Coast at either end of the tour) they only have 5 nights when there are no concerts. Today and tomorrow are two of them (although they will have to cover the 380 mile journey to Eugene, OR during that period for the concert on Tuesday evening).
This all follow just 4 days after Kasim Sulton played the last concert on a 22-date, 7 weeks Meat Loaf tour!

Review of the San Diego concert
09.00 - TRConnection.com has a really great review by Jack Keske of the San Diego concert last Tuesday. Click here to read it but some of the highlights of the review are:
"This is the best rock and roll band to have ever hit the planet. You think I am exaggerating? Well really I cannot think of a band right now that is better. They are rock solid and played with such charisma and intensity that it literally shook my soul."
"Watching Jesse play is in itself worth the price of admission. I have never seen Kasim so relaxed and just plain having fun as he was this time. And the guy on sticks...well what can you say except awesome! Then there is Todd. The guy sang and played every song like it was the last song he would ever play in his life. Such emotional intensity and sheer force to say that he took it to the next level would be an understatement."
"There is real chemistry between these guys, you can see it, feel it, and hear it! This is THE band! I hope right after this tour they immediately head straight into the studio and start jamming. Go see this show!"

Click here to hear the 6 tracks. Apparently the intention is to keep the DVD as live as possible with limited over-dubbing.

Kasim Sulton (with TR) in Anaheim, CA
01.15 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 3rd concert of the 11 date Todd Rundgren 2007 Tour. The concert is at The Grove Of Anaheim in Anaheim, CA.
This venue is most infamous for being the stage where Kasim broke his foot on the Todd Rundgren Power Trio Tour! Back in 2000 it was called the Sun Theatre and changed it's name to The Grove Of Anaheim on 13th December 2001. The venue was purchased by The Anaheim City Council in 2002 for $6.7 million.
The address of the venue is 2200 East Katella Avenue, Anaheim, CA 92806. It is adjacent to the Angel Stadium of Anaheim and is less than a mile from Disneyland. The capacity of the venue is 500 to 2,500 depending on the configuration with no seat further than 85 feet from the stage. There are 550 parking spaces available.
A couple of days ago two seats together were available in the second tier of tables. Tickets for this concert are $35 each plus a convenience charge of $9.60 each, plus a building facility charge of $20.00 per ticket, plus a $20 entree fee which is deducted from your bill if you have dinner at the venue before the concert! The concert starts at 8.30pm and dinner starts at 6.30pm. Click here to purchase tickets. This ticket page gives Kasim Sulton a mention as follows:

If you look at each August over the length of Kasim's career, his workload varies considerably. Some years he'll be on tour for the whole month (on a sheds and casinos tour for example) and others he'll spend most of it at home. This year he was on tour for the whole month on the Meat Loaf 3 Bats Tour during which he also played 3 solo gigs (in Cleveland, OH, Toronto, ON and Fort Lauderdale, FL). The Meat Loaf tour took him all over the East Coast, the MidWest, plus two gigs in Canada.
Last year Kasim was in rehearsals with the musicians in Meat Loaf's band for the first two weeks of the band and then he played gigs on The Kasim Sulton 2006 Tour. The gigs he played in August were in West Nyack, NY, New Haven, CT, Providence, RI, Greenville, SC and Cleveland, OH.
In August 2005 Kasim embarked on the US leg of the Meat Loaf Hair Of The Dog Tour. The tour started with three concerts in New York City and was mainly on the East Coast for that month so it meant that Kasim could have spent a few nights at home during the tour. It also resulted in Kasim fitting in 4 performances of the musical Movin' Out on Broadway on his spare nights too!
In total contrast all that Kasim did in the public eye in 2004 was recording Bands Reunited with Patty Smyth and Scandal plus rehearsals for the show in Los Angeles. As Kasim had spent the vast majority of the first 7 months away from home on tour with first Meat Loaf and then Todd Rundgren it's hardly surprising that he didn't tour that month!

Kasim Sulton (with Todd Rundgren) in Ventura, CA
06.45 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 2nd concert of the Todd Rundgren 2007 Tour. The concert is at the Majestic Ventura Theater in Ventura, CA.
The address of the venue is 26th S Chestnut Street, Ventura CA 93001 and can hold 1,200 people! This theater was built in the 1920s and is a beautiful theater of that period (although it has seen better days).
The opening act tonight is adverised as Joe Paquin on one website and Dan Grimm on another! This is an all ages gig. Click here to purchase General Admission tickets at $35 (plus charges) and here for the venue website. They apparently have preferrential seating if you dine before the concert at the venue but no details are given. Doors open at 7.00pm and the concert starts at 8.00pm.
Kasim Sulton last played at this venue on 14th December 2006 as part of The New Cars. His previous gig here was on 15th June 2000 as part of the Todd Rundgren Power Trio Tour.
