Kasim Sulton at Olympiahalle, Munich
14.00 - Just a reminder that the webcam at Olympiahalle in Munich, Germany is showing the Meat Loaf concert that Kasim Sulton is playing tonight. (The concert is just about to start.) Although the picture isn't great, it gives a decent enough view of the hall and the lighting display at least.

Kasim's solo gig at Alligator Alley, Fort Lauderdale, FL
08.30 - There's a great post on Fernando Perdomo's MySpace page about the fact he will be the opening act for Kasim Sulton's solo gig at Alligator Alley in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Wednesday 29th August!
Fernando Perdomo lists Todd Rundgren as one of his musical influences and describes opening for Kasim as his "most important show"! He also describes Kasim as "one of the greatest voices of rock and roll, an amazing songwriter and a legendary bassist".

Kasim Sulton's Solo gig at The Tin Angel, Philadelphia, PA
06.45 - The ticket price for Kasim Sulton's solo gig at The Tin Angel in Philadelphia, PA on Friday 3rd August has been changed so that it is now $18 whether you purchase tickets in advance or on the door. Click here for the direct link to purchase tickets online. This is a 21s and over show.
The official word is that people who have dinner at the restaurant below the venue (Serrano) get the best seating for the gig but anyone who has attended a gig there knows that often the opposite is the case as the best view of the stage is available from the unreserved stools at the side of the room.

A couple of corrections to the Meat Loaf Tour schedule
17.00 - A couple of corrections have been made to both the Gigs section of the website and the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour page:
6/9 - Rock Under Broen, Denmark
Apparently the rock festival in Denmark that Kasim Sulton will be playing on Saturday is not in Broen (which is an island off the coast of Denmark) but rather is in a city called Middelfart (gotta love those European names!!!) which is about 20 miles south of Kolding. It appears that "Broen" means bridge in Danish and the name Rock Under Broen means the rock festival under the large bridge.
6/27 - Heineken Music Hall, Amsterdam, Holland
The concert at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam, Holland (which was originally to have been played on Monday 25th June) has been switched with the Wednesday 27th June concert at St Jakobs Halle in Basel, Switzerland.

Kasim Sulton at the Hallam FM Arena tonight
01.15 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the tenth concert of the European leg of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour. The concert tonight is at the Hallam FM Arena in Sheffield, England. This venue used to be called the Sheffield Arena (Hallam FM is a readio station in the area).
The arena was built for the World Student Games as a multi-purpose venue for concerts, exhibitions and sporting events. Many top international stars have performed here including Tina Turner, Elton John and Celine Dion. Kasim Sulton has played here numerous times over the past few years (mainly always with Meat Loaf. The Arena is capable of holding an audience of over 12,000 (8,500 for sporting events) but unfortunately there is only parking for about 5,000 cars.
The arena has a series of fast food outlets situated around the concourse serving hot fast-foods such as, fries, burgers, pizzas and hot dogs as well as ice creams, sweets and crisps in typical non-healthy concert tradition! The arena is fully licensed and serves soft drinks, beer, lager, cider, wine and spirits. In UK people are allowed to purchase alchol at the age of 18.
The total stage area is 60ft x 40ft and there are 4 large team dressing / locker rooms for 22 persons, subdividable with changing areas, all with toilet and shower facilities plus there are 4 luxury 'star' dressing rooms.
The concert tonight starts at 7.30pm and Marion Raven will again be the opening act. Limited tickets near the back are still available for this concert, plus the box office still have a few seats available in the front block.

Videos of Kasim Sulton at Sheffield Arena on Sunday evening
01.00 - Click here and here for two 15 second video-clips of Kasim Sulton during Blind As A Bat on Sunday evening at Sheffield Arena. The first clip emphasises Kasim's bass playing and the second clip his singing.
Please note that the sound on both these clips is not great but that is due to my camera rather than the sound at the concert.

Kasim Sulton at Wembley Arena, London tonight
01.30 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the eighth concert of the European leg of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour. The concert tonight is at the newly refurbished Wembley Arena on the outskirts of London, England.
Wembley Arena has had an interesting history (which I certainly didn't know until I started searching for this article!). In 1924, the British Empire Exhibition opened in Wembley with exhibition buildings dedicated to the countries and the professions of the Empire. The Empire Exhibition featured lakes and parks alongside buildings dedicated to arts, industries and engineering. The Wembley Stadium stood across the road from the Palaces of India, Canada and Australia. Although hugely successful as a visitor attraction, the exhibition was not profitable and the land was soon divided among different owners. Some of the buildings fell into disrepair, whilst others found new uses once the exhibition itself had closed. In 1934 the new Empire Pool was constructed at Wembley in just six months. This large public swimming facility boasted two pools and a wave machine, and was used for a host of public events from the 1934 Empire Games to boxing, ice hockey, the 1948 Olympics and music events. Over time, these music events were to develop into the lifeblood of the Empire Pool, especially when Rock 'n' Roll became popular. With a temporary cover across the swimming pool and a stage at one end, the venue became famous for hosting the big names of the day, including The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.
In 1978 the Empire Pool became Wembley Arena with a 12,000-seat capacity. Over the years, anyone who is anyone has played Wembley Arena: Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Barbra Streisand, Kylie Minogue, Queen, The Who, Led Zeppelin, George Michael, Lionel Richie, Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Cher, David Bowie – the list is endless!
Following a spectacular £35m ($70m) refurbishment Wembley Arena reopened in April 2006. On Wednesday night Kasim Sulton played his first concert at the venue since the refurbishment. For a fan visiting a concert the areas outside the concert hall have all been greatly improved with more modern looking merchandise and food facilities. They have also changed the back of the venue into the front plus added a display of fountains outside where fans can choose to run between (and most get soaked!). Unfortunately the seating inside the venue has not been greatly improved as this "premiere venue" still has cheap-looking plastic seats!
The concert starts at 7.30pm and Marion Raven will again be the opening act. Limited tickets (near the back!) are available for this concert.

Kasim Sulton at Wembley Arena last night
05.00 - Last night Kasim Sulton played the seventh concert of the European leg of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour. The concert was at the newly refurbished Wembley Arena on the outskirts of London, England.
Unfortunately Mercury Blues was dropped from the encore so the set list was:
All Revved Up (part)
Paradise By The Dashboard Light
You Took The Words Right Outta My Mouth
Out Of The Frying Pan (And Into The Fire)
Life Is A Lemon
Anything For Love
Objects In The Rear View Mirror (May Appear Closer Than They Are)
Rock and Roll Dreams
Seize The Night (part)
Break It
Bad For Good
In The Land Of Pigs (The Butcher Is King)
Blind As A Bat
It's All Coming Back To Me Now
Bat Out Of Hell
Black Betty
Gimme Shelter
Once again there was no interval during the sets other than a video of clips from various Meat Loaf movies being screened (accompanied by the song Alive) while the band changed clothes. In The Land Of Pigs (The Butcher Is King) was played instead of The Monster Is Loose again.
Kasim played his light colored KSulton Bass for the first set, switched to his black KSulton Bass for the second set and then switched back to his light colored KSulton Bass for the encore.
Kasim wore his blue and white smocktop for the 1977 part of the concert, a black shirt for the remainder of the first set and then he changed to his velvety jacket and lilac shirt for the second set. He wore black pants throughout the concert and he removed his jacket for the encore.
There were a number of technical problems during the concert (e.g. Marion raven's microphone not being switched on at the start of It's All Coming Back To Me Now and the recorded "lights" word coming in very late in Paradise By The Dashboard Light) but one of the most memorable moments was Meat Loaf making a heartfelt speech talking about when he collapsed on stage at this venue in 2003 and how a lot of people would have doubted that he would have made it to 59 years of age.
Click here, here, and here for comments by fans about the concert.
A full review and photos of this concert will be added to KasimInfo.com later.
