Kasim at the PNE Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, BC, Canada
01.00 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 4th concert of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour. The concert tonight is at the PNE Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
This venue is within the Playland Amusement Park (in the north west corner) which is a 15 acre amusement park (normally open from April through October) that opened in 1910. The Pacific National Exhibition is a nonprofit registered charity which is owned by the City of Vancouver. The Pacific Coliseum is the largest building within the park complex and provides a magnificent setting for events as diverse as ice shows, boxing, basketball, hockey, concerts, circuses, large assemblies, and trade & consumer shows.
The Pacific Coliseum has a total capacity of 17,500 with 15,713 in permanent seating and 2,000 temporary seats on the floor for concerts and spectator sports. Ceiling clearance from the floor is a massive 68 feet. The arena floor is 56,825 square feet. There are 3,000 on-site spaces for parking. This venue is the home ground for the hockey team The Vancouver Giants.
The concert tonight starts at 7.30pm with doors opening at 6.30pm. Tickets for this concert are $89.50, $69.50 and $45.50 and can be purchased here. It appears that the concert is selling very well as a couple of days ago all the floor seats were sold out and the best available was halfway up the back block!
Click here to view the venue website. The address of the venue is 2901 East Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC, V5K 5J1 and the telephone number is 604-253-2311.

Fans' reviews of the Victoria, BC concert
17.45 - This thread on Meat Loaf's official website MeatLoaf.net has a few posts by fans who were at the Victoria, BC concert that Kasim Sulton played last night with Meat Loaf.
There's also an item on Sarah's Blog here about the same concert (under the photo of a pizza!). Apparently she left as there was an intermission during the concert (!!) but if you read her other entries it appears that she had free tickets. However there are a couple of photos showing the impressive crowd at the gig.
Unfortunately Kasim isn't mentioned in any of the reviews linked above.

The New Cars new concert
09.00 - According to The New Cars official website TheNewCars.com, the band will be playing a concert on Saturday 12th May at The Cypress Gardens Adventure Playground in White Haven, FL.
However please note that is an evening which Kasim Sulton will be playing a concert with Meat Loaf in Manchester, England.

Review of Victoria, BC concert
05.00 - Click here to read a review of the Meat Loaf concert that Kasim Sulton played last night in Victoria, BC, Canada.
The reviewer gives the concert 4.5 out of 5 stars but apparently had to leave before the end of the concert due to "deadline considerations" (sometimes it must suck being a reviewer!).
Unfortunately Kasim doesn't receive a mention in the review other than the reviewer complaining about the "bassy, muffled sound" (but he was at the back of the venue).

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Map
01.30 - Last night Kasim Sulton played a concert on the Meat Loaf Seize The Night (Bat Out Of Hell III) Tour in Victoria, British Columbia and tomorrow evening he plays the next concert on the tour in Vancouver, BC. Via road the distance between the two venues is 68 miles, however the map website I use says that this trip will take over 3 hours which is due to part of the journey being a 90 minute ferry ride across the Tsawwassen - Swartz Bay.
Alternatively a flight between the two cities would take 25 minutes and cost around $200 (one way) on Air Canada.
Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Mileage by road to date (estimated) - 4,505 miles.

March 2007
01.15 - Kasim Sulton is currently in Canada having just played the 3rd of 24 concerts on the North American leg of the Meat Loaf Seize The Night (Bat Out Of Hell III) Tour. Most weeks Kasim will play 3 concerts which works out as concerts every other day except on 9th / 10th and 12th / 13th when there are two days between concerts.
On Tuesday 6th March Kasim Sulton's 4th solo album All Sides is released. It can be purchased online here at $24.95.

Kasim in Victoria, BC
13.30 - In total contradiction of the earlier post(!) I've now managed to find out some info about the Meat Loaf concert that Kasim Sulton will be playing tonight in Victoria, BC (Canada).
The correct title of the venue (and where I was going wrong!) is the Save On Foods Memorial Centre and this is a link to the venue website. Tickets to the concert are $69.50 (plus charges) and it appears that it is selling well as the best seats available on the floor are right back in the 39th row of the third block back! (Click here to purchase tickets for the concert which starts at 7.30pm.)
This venue holds 7,000 people and is the home of the Victoria Salmon Kings who are a professional hockey team playing in the ECHL. This venue has "more than 1,000 Club and King Club Seats, a fine dining restaurant, a Club lounge, retail space, meeting space, superior sightlines and world-class acoustics"! The address of the venue is Save-On-Foods Memorial Center, 1925 Blanshard Street, Victoria, BC V8T and the telephone number is (250)-220-2600.
The arena floor is 17,000 square feet and there are 5 dressing rooms backstage. They vary in size from 450 square feet to 720 square feet and all have a toilet and shower in them. The stage is adjustable and can vary in height from 4 foot to 7 feet high. It's maximum dimensions are 60 feet wide to 40 feet deep. There is also an interesting item on the venue website here which tells you the approximate wage rates for various personnel at the venue - ushers and ticket takers get $12 an hour, uniform security $20, stagehands $15 and Royal Canadian Mounted Police get $50 an hour (they probably leave their horses outside!).
To date only one piece of pre-show publicity has been posted on any news website online. Click here to read it (unfortunately it doesn't mention Kasim by name).

Kasim's journal updated
12.00 - Kasim Sulton has updated his online journal about the problems they had traveling from Indio, CA to Victoria, BA in Canada. It makes an amusing read (if you're not the person in that situation!) but he does say that due to a very delayed flight out of LAX they had to overnight in Seattle.

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Map / concert in Victoria
01.15 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the third concert of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour. The concert tonight is at the Save-On-Food Centre in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
Unfortunately I've failed miserably at finding out anything about this venue online! I can't even find the address, far less what size venue it is or how many bricks are in the building.
This concert is the first of 10 concerts in Canada. Typically on Meat Loaf tours over the past few years he only plays one or two in this country (mainly in Toronoto) so this is a good indication on how well Bat Out Of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose has been received here.
Kasim's last concert on this tour was on Sunday in Indio, California and the distance up to Victoria, British Columbia is 1,410 miles by road and would take 20 and a quarter hours. Obviously there's no way that Kasim, Meat Loaf and the rest of the band will have driven that distance (but the trucks will probably have had to take the set that route) but from what I understand the route by road means that they will also have taken a ferry across to Victoria.
Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Mileage by road to date (estimated) - 4,437 miles.

New interview with Kasim online
14.30 - AsburyPark.com has a new interview with Kasim Sulton online. The interviewer is 17 year old Dennis Mikolay. Kasim talks about All Sides (although there's no link to how the album can be purchased) as well as playing with Meat Loaf, Todd Rundgren and The New Cars.

Kasim Sulton at the Fantasy Springs Casino, Indio, CA
08.30 - Click here for another 15 second video of the Meat Loaf concert which Kasim Sulton played on Sunday night at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California.
This video focuses on Kasim's singing in Blind As A Bat from Meat Loaf's latest album Bat Out Of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose. The sound isn't great (due to my camera) but you can clearly see Kasim enjoying singing the song on stage.
Click here for a thread on MeatLoaf.net about the same concert. This thread also includes a link to photos of the concert.
Click here for a pre-show article about the concert on TheDesertSun.com (which obviously focuses on Meat Loaf and not Kasim).

Kasim's journal updated
08.15 - Kasim Sulton has updated his online journal here about the first two Meat Loaf concerts. He's also added a clip of the band backstage.

Kasim Sulton at the Fantasy Springs Casino, Indio, CA
06.30 - The set list for the Meat Loaf concert which Kasim Sulton played last night at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California was:
All Revved Up
Paradise By The Dashboard Light
You Took The Words Right Outta My Mouth
Out Of The Frying Pan (And Into The Fire)
Anything For Love
Rock 'n' Roll Dreams
Objects In The Rear View Mirror
Seize The Night
The Monster Is Loose
Bad For Good
If It Ain't Broke
Blind As A Bat
Bat Out Of Hell
Two Outta Three Ain't Bad
Life Is A Lemon
There was more of a stage show last night compared to the Pala concert as video screens and inflatable dolls were used! A review and more photos will be added soon.
Meanwhile click here for a quick 15 second video of the musical part of Out Of The Frying Pan (And Into The Fire) which features Kasim playing his new KSulton Bass. The sound isn't great in this clip but that is due to my camera - I actually thought that this was one of the best performances of the song that I've seen on stage.

Reviews of Kasim's solo gig in Chicago
06.15 - Two reviews of Kasim Sulton's solo gig in Chicago, IL on 27th January have been posted online recently. Click here to read one by OnionHead and here for one by Mike O'Cull.
Nice quotes in the reviews include "Kasim sounded great, his voice pure and strong" and "Kasim mesmerized with his high and clear vocals and unique melodic sensibility".

Kasim at Pala Casino

Kasim Sulton in Indio, CA
17.30 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the second concert of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour. The concert tonight is at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, CA (which is half an hour south east of Palm Springs).
I believe that this is the first time that Kasim has played this venue but unfortuantely the venue website is quite sketchy regarding any details about the size of the hall. The concert is being held in the Special Events Center and starts at 6.00pm. Tickets for this concert only went on sale via the venue (Meat Loaf's official website never offered any special packages) and cost $49 to $79 (plus charges). The best seats currently available are in the 21st row of the front side block.
The address of the venue is 84-245 Indio Springs Pkwy. Indio, CA 92203-3499 and the telephone number is 800-827-2946.

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Map
17.15 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the second concert of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour. The concert tonight is at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, CA (which is half an hour south east of Palm Springs).
The first concert was on Friday in Pala, CA and a route from Pala to Indio is 99 miles which will take an estimated 90 minutes. The map shows that it doesn't appear to be a very direct route via road.
Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Mileage to date (estimated) - 3,027 miles.

Kasim Sulton's All Sides album
17.00 - Just a reminder that Kasim Sulton's latest album All Sides will not be released today as originally advertised due to delays in the printing process.
