Kasim Sulton at The Bitter End
16.30 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays his Special Holiday Gig at The Bitter End in New York City!
The gig starts at 8.00pm (doors at 7.00pm) and promises to be a night of festive fun! Tickets are only $35 on the door for this special one-off show and fans are travelling from far and wide with people coming from Dallas, Los Angeles, Buffalo and at least 3 from Europe!
(Alternatively, if you can not make the gig, Kasim's sets are often streamed on the Internet on The Bitter End website!)

Kasim Sulton at The Bitter End
06.30 - As regular readers of KasimInfo.com will know, tomorrow evening Kasim Sulton will be playing a Special Holiday Show at The Bitter End in New York City. On this website we've been counting down the days to this show and it seems amazing that it's now only one day away! (The countdown started on Saturday 21st October 2006 when it was 69 days to go!) Click here for more info about the gig. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 on the door.
It appears that at least two other musicians are now playing after Kasim. The first act after him (Aaron Zimmer) is apparently starting his set at 9.30pm.

Many thanks to Teresa Stratton for all the videos (which will take less than 5 minutes to download on dial-up). They include Kasim singing lead on All Mixed Up and an unusual clip of the strap to his bass breaking, Kasim sitting on the ground to play it so that he doesn't miss a note and then both Elliot Easton and a tech coming to his aid!

Kasim mention on Cleveland website
13.00 - Kasim Sulton receives a mention on FreeTimes.com (a Cleveland based newspaper) in their free listing music section that it appears The Beachland Ballroom often uses to advertise their gigs.
Thankfully so far only one other gig is listed in Cleveland for 26th January!

This is the photo that was used for The New Cars Road Rage Tour on KasimInfo.com this year. It was taken by Marilyn at one of the promo gigs in January in Burbank, California. As 2006 will be remembered as the year that Kasim played as part of The New Cars (or hopefully the first year that Kasim played as part of The New Cars!), this photo just sums up that whole tour for me. (Later this year this photo was also used in an advertising campaign for the KSulton Bass too.)

Kasim Sulton at The House Of Blues, Las Vegas
14.15 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the penultimate gig of The New Cars 2006 Road Rage Tour! The gig tonight is at The House Of Blues in Las Vegas, NV. This venue is located in the main casino of Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and the address is 3950 Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89119. Doors to the venue open at 6.30pm and this is a General Admission venue. Click here for tickets which vary in price from $40 to $65 (plus charges). The opening act is again Persephone's Bees.
The venue consists of three levels of viewing:
The bottom floor is standing room only.
The second floor is a seated balcony in the shape of a horseshoe.
The third level is standing room only again.
Apparently there are 3 dressing rooms at stage level - two of these have showers and all have bath, refrigerators, phones, etc. The stage is 40 foot wide by 22 foot deep and 5'6" high so the view is very good.
This is The New Cars second gig in Las Vegas as they also played here on 19th May but that time the venue was the Aladdin Resort and Casino.

Kasim Sulton at The Royal Variety Performance
01.15 - Apologies for no updates for a few days but I caught one of those nasty winter bugs so I've hardly been out of bed since Sunday.
On Tuesday 12th The Royal Variety Performance (which Kasim Sulton recorded in London on 4th December) was aired on UK TV. Kasim was shown briefly a couple of times during Blind As A Bat (standing at the pinball machine) plus he appears to be shouting at Meat Loaf at the beginning of DeadRinger For Love!

Kasim mention on newspaper website
01.15 - Kasim Sulton receives a mention on the Post Gazette website about his gig at Club Cafe in Pittsburgh on 23rd January. This is the first piece of advertising so far published for the tour and the good news is that the website does not list any other gigs in Pittsburgh yet for that evening!

Tonight Kasim Sulton was supposed to play a gig as part of The New Cars in San Francisco, CA but it was canceled due to the rest of the band being snowed in at Lake Tahoe.

Concert tonight Canceled
16.00 - Apparently The New Cars concert tonight in San Francisco, CA has been canceled!
It is posted as canceled on The Fillmore website as below plus there are posts regarding this in this thread on TheNewCars.com. The reason given in that thread is that the members of the band who played in Lake Tahoe, NV last night (not Kasim are snowed in there.
Apparently they hope to reschedule the gig.

The New Cars Road Rage Tour Map
11.00 - Kasim Sulton's last gig as part of The New Cars was on Tuesday in Los Angeles, California. The rest of the band played a gig last night in Lake Tahoe, NV but Kasim remained in LA to record a TV show with Meat Loaf so either last night or today Kasim will be travelling the 381 miles north to San Francisco for the concert tonight.
By road this trip would take about 5 and a quarter hours but it's more likely that Kasim will fly which will only take less than an hour and a half (and even a direct flight costs less than $100).
Kasim's New Cars Winter Tour Mileage (estimated) - 6,246 miles.
