First US Meat Loaf concert
17.30 - TicketMaster are now listing their first Meat Loaf concert in US. It's on Thursday 5th April at the Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton, Florida. It's unclear whether this will be the first actual concert or not yet as fans believed that the concerts would start in Florida but on 1st March.
Click here for the ticketing link (the Meat Loaf Seize The Night Tour page has been updated with the details). Tickets are on Target presale from 10.00am tomorrow until 9.00am next Wednesday (there was a special code in copies of Bat Out Of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose bought in Target) and on Internet presale at 10.00am next Wednesday (6th) until 10.00am on Friday 8th.
As previously mentioned on KasimInfo.com, apparently VH-1 are advertising tickets for the tour going on sale on 9th December so it appears likley that tickets will go on presale via Meat Loaf's official website MeatLoaf.net before then.

Kasim Sulton at The House Of Blues, Chicago, IL
07.15 - On Sunday night Kasim Sulton played a concert as part of The New Cars at The Riverside Theater in Milwaukee, WI. The set list has not been posted online but there are photos of the gig on The New Cars official website here and here. There are also photos of the Meet and Greet here. (You have to be a member to view some of the photos but membership is free.) Unfortunately there are no good close-up shots of Kasim onstage.

Nick Riff
12.45 - Nick Riff, who played an opening set at Kasim Sulton's gig at The Beachland Ballroom on 29th August, will also be opening for Kasim in Cleveland, Ohio at his return gig there on Friday 26th January 2007. Apparently Nick was at The New Cars concert in Cleveland last week and has written a review here.
Nick also mentions his first gig with Kasim on his own website here. Apparently his music is described as "psychedelic punk, spacerock, and alternative".

New Meat Loaf gig
01.15 - According to this article a new Meat Loaf concert has been added for Kasim Sulton in Ireland. It's on Monday 4th June and is again at The Point in Dublin (where he's playing on Saturday 2nd). Tickets are not on sale yet for this General Admission concert.
The Meat Loaf Seize The Night Tour page has been updated with this info.

The New Cars Road Rage Tour
01.00 - Last night Kasim Sulton played his final gig for a couple of weeks on The New Cars Road Rage Tour. The concert last night was in Chicago, IL and he'll be returning home to Staten Island. It seems very likely that Kasim will fly this trip as Chicago to Staten Island is 798 miles which will take 12 hours by road (although this would be a good dry-run for January!). A direct flight will only take 2 hours and 20 minutes and will cost less than $400 one way.
Kasim's Total New Cars Winter Tour Mileage (estimated) - 3,035 miles.
(Just a reminder that this mileage is only meant as an indication of a tour mileage compared to other tours rather than a strictly accurate measurement. It is just taken from city to city and takes no allowance of any detours. The only way to get a strictly accurate measurement would be to follow Kasim around with a pedometer and the restraining order prevents me from doing that!!!)

Kasim at The House Of Blues, Chicago
00.45 - Yesterday in the blurb about The House Of Blues, Chicago (where Kasim Sulton played last night) I incorrectly wrote "I believe that this may be his first time at this venue" but this is wrong as he played here two times on The Todd Rundgren Liars Tour - on 10th and 11th April 2004.
Many thanks to Patrick Andrews for the correction.

Kasim Sulton at The House Of Blues, Chicago, IL
15.15 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays another concert on the Winter leg of The New Cars Road Rage Tour. The concert tonight is at The House Of Blues in Chicago, IL. Tickets are $48 and $52 and this is a General Admission venue (although apparently if you eat at the venue beforehand then you are allowed in early!). The capacity is 1,300. Click here to view the venue website. The address is 329 N. Dearborn, Chicago, IL 60610 and the opening act is again Persephone's Bees. This concert is advertised as a special House Of Blues 10th Anniversary Concert as this particular venue opened in 1996. Click here to buy tickets for the concert or purchase them on the door.
This venue looks like an amazing place (see the photos!) and it is a four story venue with the restaurant one floor below music hall. There are 14 private boxes on the 3rd and 4th floors, plus there is a House Of Blues Hotel nearby. According to the website, apparently The House of Blues is a smoke-free venue. The worrying part about that is that, also according to the venue website, they say that loading space out the back is very limited as a train track runs through it! That means that when Kasim goes out for a cigarette, not only will be have to risk being mobbed by loads of fans but he has to keep an eye out for trains too! There seems to be three large dressing rooms here and each one holds 10 people comfortably and has "a private bathroom, shower and full length mirror, sink, refrigerator, comfortable furniture and television"!
Kasim Sulton has played in Chicago numerous times before, although I believe that this may be his first time at this venue. Kasim's next visit to Chicago will be in 61 days time (two months tomorrow!) when he plays another one of his great solo gigs at The Abbey Pub! (This venue is less than 7 miles away.)

Kasim with The New Cars in Milwaukee, WI
13.30 - Last night Kasim Sulton played a concert as part of The New Cars at The Riverside Theater in Milwaukee, WI. The set list appears to have been the same as at the other concerts and there are photos of the gig on The New Cars official website here and here. There are also photos of the Meet and Greet here. (You have to be a member to view some of the photos but membership is free.) The best photos of Kasim in the sets are:
A red hue.
The New Cars.

The New Cars Road Rage Tour
13.15 - Last night Kasim Sulton played a gig on The New Cars Road Rage Tour in Milwaukee, WI and tonight he plays a gig in Chicago, IL (his last gig on this leg of the tour for a couple of weeks). Milwaukee to Chicago is quite a short hop as it's only 94 miles (about an hour and three quarters by road). This section completes the Chicago / Des Moines / Clear Lake / Milwaukee / Chicago square that Kasim started on Thursday!
Kasim's Total New Cars Winter Tour Mileage - 2,237 miles.

Latest Meat Loaf news
18.15 - According to Amazon.co.uk the next Meat Loaf single to be released in UK will be Blind As A Bat (a track from Bat Out Of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose) on Monday 18th December 2006. The same single will be released in Germany on Friday 26th January 2007 (during Kasim Sulton's 2007 Winter Tour!). There is no release date for US (It's All Coming Back To Me Now was never released in US).
According to a post on one Meat Loaf mailing list there are currently adverts on VH-1 saying that tickets for the US 2007 Meat Loaf Tour go on on sale on Saturday 9th December. (They may go on pre-sale earlier through MeatLoaf.net.)
Sadly, it appears that the German Meat Loaf Fan Club website has closed (at least for a while). The reason given (in German) appears to be disillusionment with recent events (examples listed include the Meat Loaf / Steinman lawsuit, Patti Russo leaving the band, not 100% live music on stage and cancelation of the German appearance for today when he made an appearance this week after the "acute intestine infection" was reported to have been diagnosed). Hopefully the website will open again at some point in the future.

Message from Kasim's mailing list
18.00 - Kasim sent a message to his mailing list today (two times!) about the new merchandise. Click here to read it.
If you are signed up to Kasim's mailing list but do not receive the messages (as lots of people on AOL do not), please feel free to e-mail SueW@KasimInfo.com and I'll add you to the list of people I forward messages to.
Apparently the version of Quid Pro Quo which is now available is the original 2002 "Special Edition" (which includes Love Reunion) which was reported to have sold out on 11th April 2004.

Kasim at The Riverside Theater, Milwaukee, WI
14.30 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays another concert on the Winter leg of The New Cars Road Rage Tour. The concert tonight is at the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee, WI and starts at 8.00pm. Tickets are $29.50 and $39.50, plus there is a special limited gold circle for $55 (but these appear to be sold out). This morning seats were available in the 17th row of the venue. The capacity is 2,460. Click here to view the venue website and here for a page about The New Cars (including audio but it doesn't mention Kasim at all.) The opening act is Persephone's Bees.
The address of the venue is 116 West Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Kasim has played in Milwaukee several times before in his career. The last time he played at this actual venue was in December 1999 on the Meat Loaf StoryTellers Tour but he has played at Summerfest several times since then, as well as playing some solo gigs at the famous Shank Hall in the city. Unfortunately there is no Milwaukee gig booked for the Kasim Sulton Winter 2006 / 2006 Tour but as it's only 95 miles from Chicago some fans will be travelling to Kasim's 27th January gig.
Milwaukee is also the home of InterState Music (where the KSulton Bass is stocked). According to an e-mail from the venue (forwarded to KasimInfo.com by Jeff "Weavil" Gauss) there will be a booth at the venue for the KSulton Bass!

Kasim Sulton in Clear Lake, Iowa
06.15 - Last night Kasim Sulton played a concert as part of The New Cars at The Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa. The set list hasn't been posted online yet but there are photos of the gig on The New Cars official website here and here. (You have to be a member to view some of the photos but membership is free.) The best photos of Kasim in the sets are:
Kasim in a rock star pose!
Kasim looking straight at the camera.
There doesn't appear to have been a Meet and Greet at this venue but there are some historical photos of that venue on those pages.

Kasim at The Surf Ballroom, Clear Lake, Iowa
01.15 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays his 5th (the tour's 8th) concert of the winter leg of The New Cars Road Rage Tour. The concert tonight is at The Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa.
The Surf Ballroom is famous in music history as being the final venue where Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper (J.P.Richardson) played the night before they were killed in a plane crash in the early hours of 3rd February 1959 - also known as The Day The Music Died. This article has more info about the accident and what lead up to those 3 being on the plane. The Surf Ballroom has a lot of memorabilia about the event and just outside is a memorial (pictured left) to the musicians.
The original Surf Ballroom was built in 1933 and destroyed by fire in 1947 so it was rebuilt in 1948, across the street from the original location. I certainly don't claim to have an encyclopaedic knowledge of all of Kasim Sulton's career (!) so I'm not sure whether he's played at this venue before but this is the first time he's played here in the past decade. Click here for the official venue website - it's located at 460 North Shore Drive, Clear Lake, IA 50428. Apparently there is a tradition at this venue that bands autograph the walls backstage before they go on stage so that must certainly make interesting reading there! The Surf Ballroom got its name from the desire of the original owners to create a ballroom that resembled an ocean beach club. There are murals on the back walls which were hand-painted to depict pounding surf, swaying palm trees, sailboats and lighthouses. The furnishings were bamboo and rattan and the ambience that of a south sea island. The stage is surrounded by palm trees and the clouds overhead are supposed to make it seem as if you are dancing outside under the stars! This venue has a capacity of 2,100 and accomodates visitors with 30,000 square feet of entertainment area, including a 6,300 square foot dance floor. Click here for all the technical info on the venue.
The concert tonight starts at 8.00pm according to the venue website - doors open at 7.00pm. Tickets are $30 to $33 (plus charges) plus for an additional $10 per person you can hire a booth.
