Kasim's gig in Cleveland, Ohio
18.15 - Kasim Sulton's gig at The Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, Ohio is now listed on the concert listings page of Cleveland.com (Kasim's surname is spelt Sultan though). Scroll about halfway down to view it, plus a screen shot of it is produced below.

14.45 - On Doug Kennedy's MySpace page he has a nice montage of photos including some of his gigs and a recent rehearsal with Kasim Sulton. It's at the top right of his page and you don't have to be a member to view it.

Kasim's gig in West Nyack, NY

Kasim removed from New Cars photos
19.45 - If you have the slightest doubt that Kasim Sulton is no longer in The New Cars compare the two photos below. Both are taken from 10th Street Entertainment's website which is openly accessible. 10th Street Entertainment manage The New Cars.
The first photo is taken from The New Cars press conference at The House Of Blues in Los Angeles on Tuesday 14th March and clearly shows (left to right) Elliot Easton, Greg Hawkes, Todd Rundgren, Kasim Sulton and Prairie Prince.
The second photo is the one that is now available on 10th Street Entertainment's website and Kasim has been airbrushed out!!!
There are also two other photos of the event on that website where he's been removed but he was at the end of the photo, in the example above they had to remove him and move Prairie across.
Please note that these photos will be removed from my server soon so that I don't get into trouble!

10.00 - Unfortunately the venue website for Kasim Sulton's gig on Sunday evening at The Century Lounge in Providence, RI haven't updated their calendar at all for August.
Fortunately Lupos Heartbreak Hotel (which appears to be another club in Providence) does list Kasim's gig here. As it will disappear after the gig, a screenshot of it is pasted in below.

Kasim Sulton's gig in West Nyack, NY
08.00 - The set list, reviews and photos will be added later but Kasim Sulton's gig at The Opus Theater in West Nyack, NY on Saturday night was a great hit with the small but enthusastic crowd.
Kasim, Doug Kennedy and Dennis DelGaudio played for about an hour and twenty minutes and Kasim was on great form chatting to the audience.
The set list was similar to his other gigs but he reintroduced a Utopia song and he sang his new song Are You Happy Now (which he later said was written by the two guys who wrote Yellow Cab). Kasim also dedicated the very moving final song Fairest Lord Jesus (also known as Beautiful Savior) to his childhood friend John who is seriously ill.

00.15 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays his 4th concert of the 2006 Kasim Sulton Tour. The concert tonight is at The Opus Theater in West Nyack, NY (about 40 minutes north of New York City).
The Opus Theater is located within the Palisades Center Shopping Mall which is one of the largest malls in North America. The theater is located on the fourth floor (next to Target).
Kasim's gig set starts at 8.00pm with doors at 6.00pm and the opening act (not announced) at 7.00pm. This venue is a theater / restaurant venue which offers a full menu as well as bar snacks. The seats are placed around tables but it is not obligatory to have a meal at the venue. Click here to see the extensive menu. The theater also boasts a 7.1 state-of-the-art surround sound system and concert lighting technology.
 Tickets for this gig are $20 and can be purchased from this link or on the door. Advance purchase tickets also include a donation to a choice of genuine charities plus free entrance to a screening of the DVD Meat Loaf Live With The Melbourne Orchestra (featuring Kasim Sulton) on Sunday at 3.00pm too.
Doug Kennedy has indicated that he will be playing at this gig so hopefully Dennis DelGaudio will be playing too.

Kasim Sulton 2006 Tour Mileage
00.05 - Tonite Kasim Sulton plays his fourth gig of his Kasim Sulton 2006 Tour. The gig is at The Opus Theater in West Nyack, NY. This trip should take Kasim about an hour and ten minutes (depending on traffic) via road.
Once again the map website which I use quotes a different mileage going to the gig (52 miles) then it does returning from it (55 miles). (I'm beginning to think that Staten Island must be subject to the tide and floats away a few miles later in the evenings!!!)
Staten Island to West Nyack, NY - 52 miles.
Total Tour Mileage - 384 miles.

Unfortunately the message indicates that no more gigs will be booked on the Kasim Sulton 2006 Tour which will come as a big disappointment to lots of Kasim's fans.

Kasim and The New Cars
14.00 - According to a post in this thread on the messageboard attached to TheNewCars.com, Kasim Sulton will not be playing the concerts booked for later this year on The Road Rage Tour.
Kasim has not announced himself whether this is correct but Todd Rundgren is reported in this interview as saying that the band are looking for a new bass player.
Earlier today 11 gigs for The New Cars were listed on Pollstar.com but they have since disappeared (as often happened earlier this year.) These gigs start in October and the last one listed was 26th November. As one of the dates was 2nd November (when we know that Kasim will be playing a gig in New York City with Meat Loaf), it seems likely that this report is true therefore KasimInfo.com will no longer be listing the future concert dates of The New Cars so I would strongly recommend that you visit TRConnection.com for the most up to date info and reviews of the tour.
However it seems likely that Kasim will play the New Cars gig in Atlanta, GA on Friday 8th September (as Kasim changed his gig at The Cup in Staten Island from 9th to 16th September) but this has not been confirmed.

08.15 - The Stamford Advocate has a round-up of forthcoming gigs in their area and it includes a little blurb about Kasim Sulton's gig at Lily's Pad (Toad's Place) in New Haven, CT next Saturday. Kasim is described as "a major, top-flight studio bassist"!

Kasim Sulton 2006 Tour Mileage
08.30 - The third gig of The Kasim Sulton 2006 Tour was on Saturday 29th July and was at The Saint in Asbury Park, NJ. This was another relatively short trip for Kasim as it will have only taken him less than an hour, in a southerly direction. (Again according to the map website I use it is 42 miles going but only 41 returning from the venue!)
Staten Island to Asbury Park, NJ - 42 miles.
Total Tour Mileage - 277 miles.

The New Cars rescheduled concert at The Borgata
02.30 - The Borgata website (Atlantic City, NJ) is showing the rescheduled concert on The Road Rage Tour as Saturday 18th November at 8.00pm. Blondie will again be the opening act.
The gig isn't showing on the Calendar page on the venue website yet but you can access the link above by going into Event Venues then click on ticketing, click on purchase tickets then click on Event calender.
This concert was originally schedueled for 24th June and tickets for that date are still valid. Please remember that it's not confirmed yet whether or not Kasim Sulton will be playing due to his Meat Loaf commitments.

02.15 - According to a post by gardener in this thread on the messageboard attached to TRConnection.com, at Kasim Sulton's gig in Cleveland, Ohio on 29th August there is supposed to be "an extra-super-special announcement at the event" which sounds intriguing!

Kasim Sulton 2006 Tour Mileage
02.00 - The second gig of The Kasim Sulton 2006 Tour was on Saturday 22nd July and was at The Tin Angel in Philadelphia, PA. This trip will have taken Kasim about 90 minutes in a south west direction. (Surprisingly according to the map website I use it is 82 miles going but only 80 returning from the venue!)
Staten Island to Philadelphia - 82 miles.
Total Tour Mileage - 194 miles.

The good news is that it says Kasim will be bringing a band!
(The bad news is that they spell his surname as "Sultan" and Meat Loaf's name as one word!)

The New Cars Tour
07.00 - According to this thread on the messageboard attached to TRConnection.com, The New Cars are reported to be booked to play in Buffalo, NY on Wednesday 22nd November. This gig has not been officially confirmed. (It's also unkonown at the moment whether Kasim Sulton will be playing this gig due to his other possible commitments.)
This is slightly old news now but some more Box Office statistics have found their way onto the Internet about The New Cars Road Rage Tour as follows:
Wantagh, NY: NIKON AT JONES BEACH THEATRE
6/9/06
4,557 tickets sold out of a possible 13,808 (33% capacity)
Box Office Receipts: $206,320 (Tickets $20 to $65)
Holmdale, NJ: PNC BANK ARTS CENTER
6/10/06
4,999 tickets sold out of a possible 16,444 (30% capacity)
Box Office Receipts: $202,853 (Tickets $17.50 to $62.50)
The fact that these two venues only show about a 30% capacity is probably due to the dreadful weather on the day of the Wantagh concert and that the Holmdel concert includes a massive lawn which is rarely full.
As my guestmate for these two concerts were both 4,000, it means that the total attendence for the tour (or as close as just a fan can get) was 65,435. At an average price of $75 a ticket, that makes the total guestimated income $4,897,625.
