New York State Of Mind
Review by SueW
Just a brief review again but I thought this was a much better gig than his one in Akron. Certainly the crowd was far louder and more appreciative and even Kasim said on stage at one point that he was enjoying himself.
Kasim played three less songs than in Akron but the gig lasted about the same amount of time (except there was no interval). Kasim said that he was zooming though his set list so someone asked him to tell a story so he spoke about his son and some forks!
Unfortunately the lighting was bad at the venue for photos. There were some special effect lights behind Kasim but his face wasn't too well lit.
Kasim sung to backing tracks for several (but not all) of his new songs from 3 and that mixture suited the songs well.
Kasim explained that he wrote The Traveller as that is often what he will describe his job as because 90% of his job is travelling. He gave the example that the next day he was driving the 12.5 hours back to New York and then would fly on Friday to Finland for a gig on a boat for BOC. He said that he would travel for about 20 hours just to play a 1.5 hour gig!
