Hello It's Me "The first night of the Evanston shows was a revelation; I'd almost forgotten how magical it is when he just . . sings! And man, was he singing this night . . obviously pacing himself, a little tentative in the beginning, but by "Hawking" he was in magnificent form . . as was the whole band! The setlist was fun, songs from all corners of the Rundgren universe." "I was very impressed with the Acoustics and size of this venue. Very, very intimate. The service was great as well. Lin Bremer who is and has been my favorite Chicago radio personality for many years on WXRT introduced Todd Rundgren, I knew from that point forward it was going to be a great night!!" "The boys were tight and sounded amazing!!" "Todd's voice was in stellar shape and the band was incredible..." "What's going on with Kasim in these tours? He's playing well, singing great, looking good. Why doesn't he get at least one song to shine in? I know these are "evening with Todd Rundgren" concerts and that people have paid money to see TR. But would it be so wrong to give Kasim the spotlight at least once? I'd vote for Libertine but there are any number of candidates." "Two not so good things which has nothing to do with Todd is the dancing people in the front of the stage and the guy who wouldn't stop talking loudly over Todd while Todd was playing! The concert is NOT ABOUT YOU, it's about TODD and people need to be more considerate of others around them! Even Todd mentioned something about it the next night."

Jim Snyder has photos of Kasim at this gig here and here.

The venue (taken from the KasimInfo.com Blog that day):
The address of the venue is SPACE, 1245 Chicago Avenue, Evanston, Illinois 60202 which is about 30 minutes north of Chicago (if there is no traffic).
On Sunday evening they played in Milwaukee, WI so they will have driven about two hours south.
SPACE stands for Society for the Preservation of Art & Culture in Evanston. The website venue describe SPACE as "SPACE was created by musicians for musicians. Our venue was designed to offer superior comfort, elegant aesthetics, and sophisticated audio and lighting technology, all in service of great creative expression. The sound is fantastic, the sight lines are perfect, and no seat is more than 40 feet from the stage."
This venue only holds about 250 people so consequently tickets sold out for the two gigs at this venue very quickly. Tickets were $46 to $88 (plus charges).
The last time that Kasim Sulton played here was in May 2012 (also with Todd).
