Comments from fans include:
"Capacity crowd is about 600 people, and I would say that the place was very close to full capacity! A fantastic turn out for a population of Redding that is about 90,000."
"BOC came out full throttle, and the energy translated throughout the audience and back to the band."
" I have seen many BOC shows, and I was astonished at the energy that took over the place. When you have standing ovations, and clapping during songs, that is something that you just do not see at rock shows these days, or rarely."
" The newest member of the band, bass player Sulton and drummer now veteran, Radino keeps the back beat hard and tight with Eric, Ritchie and Buck, bringing music to new a new level of crisp perfection from the diverse song list!"
"Before the show started, a warning was bestowed upon the crowd about staying seated and to move to the side of the theater if you wanted to groove! Well, towards the end of the show and the double encore, fans rushed to the stage and danced in delight to Hot rails to hell and Cities on Flame."

Last night Blue Öyster Cult played in Santa Cruz so they will have had a 276 miles, 4.5 hours drive due north to reach Redding.
Tickets for the gig vary in price:
The concert tonight starts at 7.30pm and the venue website lists that it will end at 10.30pm.
Based on info on its website, the Cascade Theatre was constructed in downtown Redding in 1935 as a 1,348-seat movie palace and vaudeville stage. It is one of the examples of art deco architecture in California, complete with gold and silver gilded walls, period chandeliers, ornate plasterwork, a grand neon facade and marquee and murals.
Unfortunately the venue closed in 1997 but was restored and re-opened on 14th August 2004 as a regional non-profit performing arts center. It now has state-of-the-art sound, lighting and theatre technology. It is capable of hosting a wide range of arts and cultural events, including theater, concerts, dance and film presentations.
This will be Kasim Sulton's final gig as part of Blue Öyster Cult for a while as next week he embarks on a tour with Todd Rundgren. All Rights Reserved |
