Today the Rock Legends Cruise on The Liberty Of The Seas docks at 9am at Labadee on the northern coast of Haiti.

This is a private resort leased to the cruise line Royal Caribbean International until 2050. The resort is completely tourist-oriented and is guarded by a private security force. The site is fenced off from the surrounding area and passengers are not allowed to leave the property. However the attractions there include a Haitian flea market, beaches, watersports, a water-oriented playground, a roller-coaster-type ride and a zip-line so there is no real reason for them to wish to leave the area! Royal Caribbean International contribute substantial money and jobs to the local economy plus they pay the Haitian government US$6 per tourist.

It is expected to be about 85 degrees today in Labadee.

The ship sets sail at 6pm tonight which is the time that Blue Öyster Cult play a set for about two hours in the Platinum Theatre. This is the third and final gig of the cruise for the band.
