Freak Parade Heavy Metal Kids Another Life Somethings Coming 7 Rays Do Ya The Wheel The Ikon Freedom Fighters Just One Victory "Great set list. The bands was tight. Unfortunately the sound mix on TR's vocals was not so good." "The band is so GOOD. John Siegler is a beast (I'm quoting someone who said this). John seemed to be the leader of the pack. Ralph and Kasim filled in for missing Moogy." "Considering the complexity of the arrangements the band performed terrific. Todd was not much for words, except referring to some Ohio politics with the governor." "Thought this show lacked something. Maybe tired from the drive?" "Even though Jessie never picked up a guitar nor was the bass played by Kasim....they filled in with accurate percussion, keys, and vocals." "odd's vocals (at least in the balcony) sounded muffled -- a similar trait to other shows based upon reviews." "This concert was a disappointment for me. The Positives: The crowd was fantastic and I thought the band was putting their heart into it. The Negatives: The sound (as I've found with many of Todd's shows in the last 10 years) was horrible. To me, great sound at a concert is 50 percent of the deal. The other negative is that Todd (by his own admission) spends little time rehearsing before he goes on tour." "At a fan party the night before Todd showed up and helped cut Michele's b'day cake and hung out for a while checking out the tribute band. He stuck around for about an hour and then Michele took him to back the room and she came back to sing Something To Fall Back On with the band -- Mary Lou and Kasim joined her for the background singing. They also coaxed Kasim into singing Set Me Free. A little later, Todd showed back up and stayed for almost the rest of the party." "There were a few empty seats in the back." "Fine performance, sound was fine in the balcony up close I would recommend ear plugs. Lighting was thin, but the band shined on and all looked like they were having a great time."

The venue (taken from the KasimInfo.com Blog that day):
The address of this venue is 182 South Main Street, Akron, OH 44308. Tickets for this gig vary in price from $37 to $57 (plus charges of $8.35 per ticket) and can be purchased from this link. There were also some VIP tickets at $125 but they have sold out. Yesterday seats were available in the third row of the balcony. The show starts tonight at 8pm.
This theater was built in 1929 and apparently is one of only five remaining theaters in the country where patrons experience a twinkling star-lit sky and intermittent clouds moving across the horizon while sitting inside the auditorium. In June 2001 the theater closed until November 2002 for a $19 million refurbishment. One unusual thing to note about this venue is that the lobby lights are flicked on and off to indicate when the next set is about to start.
This will be Kasim's fourth visit in recent years to this venue as he played here as part of Todd Rundgren's band on Sunday 6th September 2009 and Sunday 5th September 2010. Kasim also played an opening set here on Sunday 4th September 2011 for Rick Springfield. This was one of the first venues that Kasim played in as part of Utopia when he first joined the band in 1976.
