"The show lasted just over 90 minutes."
"Overall great show, but Jesse and Kasim were just backup singers. Todds voice made up for various forgotten/missed guitar licks."
"Let me first say that I have been a fan of this man for over 40 years. Todd is by far my favorite solos artist hands down..... including his work with Utopia. His shows, no matter what iteration, or combination of artists, were always satisfying. I'm afraid tonight there was little to like. The song selection was boring. It's scope of tune selection, relative to the Utopia catalogue, was narrowed down exclusively to the early early days. Virtually the entire show was long boring space rock tunes that droned on endlessly, who's execution was sloppy and the sound system horrific. Todd called it 'prog rock'. I know prog rock and Utopia was never recognized for being a staple of the genre. I vaguely recognized several tunes, but even back in the early 70's, with chemical enhancements, they were boring."
"Too much metal and not enough vocals. I felt like I was at a jam session. Though I was aware it was going to be different, I expected "some" of his earlier works. The place went wild with "Do Ya" and they did not take the hint and went right back into their jam session."
"Kasim and Jesse didn't do much. Just some background vocals and incidental keys and the occasional percussion thing - think shaker and triangle."
"I love Todd. Been a fan 35 years. maybe a hundred shows. This was HORRIBLE. I felt like I was watching my 13yr old daughter perform at school and she has a meltdown or something."
"Great show, hard rock and roll no radio hits."
"I had the best time . The meet and greet was really amazing . We were escorted in to the sound check and were able to watch the band truly rehearse. They were not waisting any time trying to entertain the meet and greet folks during the sound check sound check , they had work to do . That was something I really enjoyed. The layering vocal parts with Kasim and Jesse and the guitar /keyboard parts with Ralph . The sound levels and the communication with the sound board.... This is a huge "Arena" almost . The band was excellent. They had to overcome some adversities I would imagine with the absence of Moogy, but the show must go on and I learned what that really means now."
"This Utopia tour seems more for Todd's own pleasure than that of his fan base at large."
"My only complaint really was that Todd needs to practice some parts more as he seemed to forget or have problems with some riffs."
"Kasim only played keyboards for Just One Victory."
"This was a casino show where they give out a lot of free tickets. I would expect that may have attributed to some leaving...maybe??"
"There was nothing to like tonight." ELO's 'Do Ya' was the only song that got the crowd jumping. Todd even commented that the crowd finally got into on of the tunes and it wasn't even a Utopia song! Otherwise by shows end, 2/3's of the audience had left the theatre. I've never seen that happen before."
"Todd and Utopia were unbelievable. I saw Todd in July in Cleveland and he did all of his old most popular tunes. This was such an unexpected treat. He played only Utopia songs except for two. Could not believe that it was not sold out and people were getting up and leaving because it wasn't what they expected. Too bad for them."
"y opinion is Todd is over-performing and should maybe redefine his role as a live performer. I love Todd but sometimes the logistics of what he does in his career are just way off. He just released Reproduction but he's not promoting it. He spent 2 hours last Wednesday performing 2 mid 70's Utopia albums that even the most ardent Todd/utopia fan rarely plays, not that they're not good albums but lets face it it's Hard Rock 2011 not Fox theater 1975!"
"This was by far the most disappointing and unpleasant concert experience I've ever attended! Everyone we spoke to felt the same."

The venue (taken from the KasimInfo.com Blog that day):
The gig tonight is at the venue called Hard Rock Live in the Seminole Casino in Hollywood, FL. Kasim Sulton last played at this venue on Monday 12th September 2005 during the Meat Loaf Hair Of The Dog Tour. During that tour Kasim posted some photos of himself backstage at the venue (I think) here, here, here and here. (Kasim was also supposed to have played here as part of The New Cars in 2006 too but that gig was cancelled when Eillot Easten broke his shoulder.)
This venue opened in 2005 and the technical specifications are:
Click here to view the venue website. The address is 4150 N State Road 7, Hollywood, FL 33021-1509. The casino itself boasts that it has over 1,150 slot machines! It is situated on 100 acres of the Hollywood Reservation of the Seminole Tribe of Florida and includes the hotel tower, a 145,000 sq foot casino, a 4 acres lagoon-style pool area, fifteen restaurants, sixteen shops, the poker room, a spa, an improv comedy club and over ten bars and nightclubs. The hotel has 481 guest rooms and 86 suites with panoramic views. Guests are greeted by a 50-foot tall signature Hard Rock guitar modeled on the one Jimi Hendrix played.
The hotel is most infamous for being the place where Anna Nicole Smith died due to an overdose on 8th February 2007.
The gig tonight starts at 8pm. Click here to buy tickets which vary in priced from $55 to $80 (plus charges). A few days ago the best seats available were in the 28th row.
Kasim was to have only sing background vocals on this tour but last night it was posted online that Moogy is not doing so well so will only be at his local shows which may mean that Kasim will play some keyboards too on the tour.
