Couldn't I Just Tell You "For some reason Todd kept characterizing this show as the "San Francisco premiere" of the Arena material, though they (also) played the whole album at the Great American Music Hall last year. That was before the disc had been released, and it showed; this year they had really "played in" the songs and were a tight, cohesive band." "Trapped (with Kasim) killed."

The venue (taken from the KasimInfo.com Blog that day):
Slim's opened in 1988 by Boz Scaggs and "is a live music nightclub dedicated to providing the public with excellent service, a congenial atmosphere, good food & drinks, and the finest of American Roots Music--Blues, R&B, Cajun/Zydeco, Jazz, Alternative, and more". The venue consists mainly of an open floor with one end of the floor being the performance stage. (From what I can remember from visiting there in 2000, the stage isn't very high.) The address of the venue is 333 11th Street, San Francisco, CA, 94103-4313. This venue is the sister venue of The Great American Music Hall where Todd Rundgren played in 2007.
Tickets for the gig tonight are $25 and can be purchased from this link. This is a General Admission All Ages gig (althought the website says that no "babes in arms" are allowed!). Doors open at 7pm and the gig starts at 8pm. The opening act will be Paul Freeman again.
The last time that Kasim Sulton played at Slim's was on 8th and 9th June 2000 on the Todd Rundgren Half Twisted Tour. The last time that he played in San Francisco was on 13th September 2007 (with Todd Rundgren).
