Review by SueW:
No time to write a real review so a number of comments instead! (There's a really detailed review of the Plymouth concert here.)
It was back to the full set again (assuming that You Took The Words is no longer in the set).
There was no rain during their set.
It was quite windy in the middle of the set so the sound came and went a bit (at least where I was standing).
At one point Meat Loaf joked about the hot summer night and then told us that at least one of his nipples was as hard as a rock!
Kasim had his black leather jacket on and was dressed all in black. He used his black KSulton bass through all the set.
At the start of Life Is A Lemon, Meat Loaf suddenly went over and gave Kasim a kiss full on the lips (he was holding Kasim's face so he couldn't move)! It must have lasted a full 3 seconds (but I'm sure it seemed longer to Kasim!)
Pearl (the opening act and Meat Loaf's adopted daughter) joined them on stage for Bat Out Of Hell and Why Don't We Do It On The Road / Roadhouse Blues. During Bat Out Of Hell she used Kasim's microphone so he wandered around the stage a bit (e.g. up on the drums) which gave some great photo ops but I thought his vocals were sadly lacking from the song.
There was loads of free parking at this venue and it was well organised so we all got out quite quickly. Unlike other venues (such as Blickling Hall) lots of people were standing quite early on and there were far less picknickers.
Rock'n'Roll Dreams was one of the longest versions I've seen tonight. No only did Dave Luther's sax solo go on for ages but so did the guitar playing at the end.
I thought that tonight's version of Amnesty was a lot better than at the other concerts. Gernerally I've been disappointed with this song but it seemed better tonight and the vocals were clearer.
There were no problems with taking photos tonight except that we were told not to use flash. Unfortunately I was too far back to take many decent ones.
I do feel sorry for the band on this tour as they barely get a mention - the focus is very much on the girls. Meat Loaf hasn't even introduced the band since Plymouth and they are probably the best set of musicians he's ever had on stage with him.
The set lasted about 2 hours again.
For the first time tonight I looked at the merchandise and unfortunately they don't seem to be selling any of Kasim's CDs. There's also no tourboo.
The blow-up dolls were all over the place tonight which was really funny to watch! It was quite breezy at that point and they wouldn't stay upright! At one point Mark had the CC doll lying on the Mark doll on his piano! Paul was attacked by one as it almost fell on him.
I thought this was a much better concert than the last couple. As a warm-up to Kasim's solo gig on Tuesday, it was spot on!!!

"Great show once again! As good as if not better than Cork, the atmosphere wasn't as great as Liverpool shows have been in the past, but then the Arena is a completely different place to the old big top."
"Kudos to Meat for still including Blind as a Bat. I personally think this is one of the most difficult songs to sing from Meat's back catalogue and if he wanted to play things safe he could pick something a lot easier from Bat 3 that's for sure."
"Show was fab, a bit of a rocky start I thought but Meat was soon on track and gave some of the best performances of the tour so far."

"Thought the whole show was excellent, highlight for me was Amnesty i thought meat's vocals on that one were excellent. I actually thought AFL & BFG were the two song's he struggled a little bit with."
"We were sat on Mark's side of the stage tonight, far enough over to see exactly how much work Mark puts in during a concert. He rarely takes his eyes off Meat and rarely takes his hands off the keyboards! Because he "just" sits at the back at his piano I think mark often gets overlooked during concerts, but his contribution certainly shouldn't be undervalued!!"
"The sound was spot on, very loud but VERY good and appeared to be well mixed, at least from where I was sitting."
"As for photos, yup you were not allowed to take any, though during the encores it seemed fine and Meat joked to someone in the front row and said "Busted", he seemed in great spirit all round really."
The venue (taken from the KasimInfo.com Blog that day):
Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 5th concert of the 20 concert The Meat Loaf Casa De Carne Tour. The concert tonight is in the grounds of Broadlands in Romsey, Hampshire.
Broadlands is a beautiful mid-Georgian mansion which means it was built in the mid 18th Century. It is the home of the Mountbattens, the most famous of which was Lord Louis Mountbatten (Earl Mountbatten of Burma) who was the last Visceroy of India (the Queen's representative before their independence). Prince Charles considered him his grandfather but unfortunately he was killed by the IRA in 1979. Click here to view Broadlands website.
This is a General Admission outdoor picnic-style concert and the gates open at 8.00pm. Unffortunately there is currently a sign on the website saying "This concert is still going ahead despite the current rain"!
Tickets (available on the gate) are £37.50 (about $70) plus there is a Meet and Greet option (to meet Meat Loaf) for an extra $300.
