Seize The Night
Black Betty I took a lot more photos today than I usually do so just a few comments rather than a "review". Kasim wore his blue and white smocktop during the 1977 part of the set, a black shirt during most of the first half and a dark jacket and black shirt during the second half. He had black trousers on throughout. Kasim played his light coloured bass in the first half and his black bass in the second half and encore. I was amazed at how large this room was. Uusally I've been so busy dashing to the front of the stage that I hven't looked aroun. Today I took my time more and I can se that it could easily hold 9,000 people. It was probably 8 times the size I remembered it! Maybe it was just where I was standing but it seemed that a lot of people chatted all through the quiet part of Objects In The Rear View Mirror tonight. When Meat Loaf did his chat to us before Objects In The Rear View Mirror, he said that he'd heard someone call out during Paradise that he was wearing a false wig. He decided that the person couldn't possibly be from Glasgow and had to be from London! He also told us that his wife (that was the word he used) was Scottish. Kasim was introduced as Kasim "Bad Boy" Sulton again but Meat Loaf didn't get him to crouch in front of "his" picture on the drum riser. During the introductions Meat Loaf kept holding up various white guitars belong to Paul Crook before introducing him. During the band bow part when John Micelli came to the front of the stage, he was wearing a kilt! At one point meat Loaf turned John around and he revealed his bare bum! (I won't be posting that photo!) There was a funny part during the encore as Aspen Miller danced her way across to Dave Luther (by basically walking with her hips out) so Meat Loaf did exactly the same! Don't get me wrong as I really enjoyed this concert but I don't think it was quite as good as at Birmingham on Wednesday (and that's not only because I had to stand for hours!).
