Review by Teresa Stratton:
The set lasted about 90 minutes, with no "intermission".
For the most part, the sound was great, at least for Kasim. The sound for Doug's guitar wasn't quite as good, My sister said it was because of the sound or amplifier box that he was hooked into (she does part-time work as sound technician for some bands). The sound was a little rough in the beginning of Where Is My Soul, though for Kasim.
As usual, Kasim and Doug hung out after the show for anyone who wanted to talk, get autographs, pictures & such. They were both so sweet and nice! So the stories are all true!
During the show, the funniest part of Kas' banter was in talking about his relationship with Todd, and also with Doug....but I am not allowed to go there with the details!
It was a lovely evening, very inspiring, as the great shows & performers are.
I also meant to mention that Kasim's voice sounded great, all the way through the show, even at the very end!
Review by Kirstin:
It was pretty packed. I tried to take a head count and it was around 65-75 people! Even Kasim commented a few times on all of the people. He looked so great and was in a really funny/goofy mood. The sound was a bit off at first but it all seemed to work out in the end. He/they sounded wonderful.
My top three songs were Cliche`, Jane Doe, and One World. Kasim was beautiful while singing Cliche`. His voice was so sweet and full. Jane Doe makes me sad, always, especially when I hear him singing it live. One World was a ton of fun. He was having us fill in the words and raising his arm, made some UUGH sounds, etc.
It was great. Doug really does make a wonderful addition. On Kasim's song Sacrifice Doug's guitar playing was out of this world. I watched Kasim look at Doug and he got a big smile on his face. Seemed quite pleased.
After the gig there was a line about 25 people deep waiting to see Kasim. Lots of photos., autographs, and chit chat. He really is a beautiful person with a big heart. Doug is also quite charming.
All in all totally worth the trip and my 4:00 am arrival back home.
